#1: seriously?... overreacting over a couple bad games. He is a key player at madrid for sure.
#2: laws dont tend to apply the same way to famous people/people with power. So I only hope this case gets closed once and for all the fairest way.
#3: nothing to comment, hope he at least doesn't celebrate when he scores.
#4: I dont see what could he contribute to the team... he could have gone to the previous WC but their next big tournament is about a year from now, when he probably wont be in form for competing at that level.
#5: I know Im being stubborn with this but... any freaking defender > Falcao. with that money we could buy a whole defensive line, and a very good one.
Hello all FootyRoom users and members. I'd like to start a new thread series called "Football Talk, Discussion, and Rumors". This thread series is inspired by our moderator @AlexBatak's extremely successful and appreciated thread series titled "Transfer Rumors", and I hope to continue a weekly version of this thread series.
Feel free to openly speak and discuss about the topics in contention.
1. Gareth Bale's starting spot in danger?
The Real Madrid forward has been largely ineffective for quite the number of games this season. It seems that La Liga teams, as well as Champions League teams, are figuring out how to stop the winger. Bale is extremely dangerous when allowed to roam freely, but if defenders cut off the space for him to run on to, he is next to useless. With Jese Rodriguez returning from injury, will Bale's starting spot be in danger? Or will the Galactico keep his starting spot next to Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema?
2. Lionel Messi to face trial for tax evasion
The Barcelona forward is set to go to court, along with his father Jorge Messi, as the judge has recently rejected their appeal. Along with the 30+ Million they had already paid back, the father-son duo are still charged with evasion of 4+ Million Euros worth of taxes since a three-year period in 2007. Leo Messi has commented, "We never committed any infringement. We have always fulfilled all our tax obligations, following the advice of our tax consultants who will take care of clarifying this situation". No dates have been set for the trial. If found guilty, a six-year prison sentence and a large fine awaits. Leo Messi is found guilty of being on the peripheral of the tax evasion, even though his father handles all his funds.
3. Will Cesc Fabregas break Gunner hearts?
The ex-captain of the Arsenal team looks set to face off his old club with his new one: Chelsea. Although Cesc had left for home again for Barcelona, his situation did not turn out there to his liking, and is now back in England. He has been on stellar form for Chelsea, and a very posing question is will Arsenal fans be able to bear Cesc making a match-winning contribution against Arsenal?
4. Ricardo Kaka called up for Brazilian friendlies
The 2007 Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year winner has been called up for the Brazilian national team again for friendlies against Japan and Argentina. The 32 year-old has not played for his national team since March 2013, and did not take part in either of the Confederations Cup or the World Cup. Kaka has already won the World Cup and the Confederations Cup twice with Brazil.
5. Manchester United reach permanent deal with Radamel Falcao
Falcao is rumored to have a permanent deal in sight with the Red Devils as Ed Woodward looks keen to sign the forward for 43.5 Million Pounds (55.5 Million Euros). The Colombian star has arrived on loan to England on a 250.000 Pound-per-week wage, and is considered by many to be one of the world's top strikers right now. United have already paid 6 Million Pounds in order to bring him on loan, and if this rumor is true, the total fee might end up being close to 63 Million Euros.
