Fifa 16: EA Sports game to feature women for first time

I think it's a nice initiative and great way to improve the game. But who cares really, its not like people are going to use them. And how are their ratings going to be sorted? Its always good to add new stuff to the game but I dont think it is something that will thrill regular gamers.

I like this a lot, I do somewhat follow the NWSL, so I know a bunch of the players. Also, I'm Canadian, and having a Team Canada will be fantastic, even if it's just for the women.

The first thing nowadays teenagers will try is finding a glitch to make them naked...

After doing some research, I found out that they are bound to national teams, and those national teams can only play each other. Makes sense, I guess that means they can balance the stats then.Out of curiosity though, I've seen a lot of negativity surrounding this, why are people against this? If FIFA (video games) are about representing worldwide soccer/futbol, we have the Women's World Cup this year, which I'll certainly be watching and most other fans will as well. To be honest I'm surprised they weren't in the game before now, I guess I just never really thought about it.

The idea is definitely great, but the controversy lies in the popular opinion that EA servers remain horrible, and UT is a pile of junk. The FIFA game does not change too dramatically with time, so there is a fear that the introduction of women's teams will delay or completely abandon the work on Career Mode/UT/EA servers, and so on.

Another complaint is this: who asked to add women's teams? Definitely not the majority, who would rather play with men's teams. The update came as a surprise to many of us. Some fans believe that EA does not listen to popular opinion, but then EA threw a curveball.

IMO, the introduction of women's teams definitely should take place.

Sunflash people just like to complain about everything. I dont see anything wrong with it, i just think its a bit useless since most people will only try it out once and thats about it. I think the effort to make this would have been better improving the career mode which originally made FIFA what it is. But they focus so much on FUT since its a cash machine that they forgot about the core gamers.

Speaking to some of my female friends about this, they actually expressed interest in a sports video game for the first time I'd ever seen. Most women I know follow soccer/futbol, but if the people they see as representing them (in this case, their national teams) were not in the game, they had no reason to play it. I would not be surprised if FIFA has just marketed itself to a MASSIVE new audience.

I'd also like to point out that this has nothing to do with UT. Because online gameplay and CPU gameplay are done by two separate groups of people, I don't see how this takes anything away from UT.

Again though, just my opinion.

It's not taking anything away from UT, but they are adding new things while the old ones are still broken. Typical EA releases something new instead of fixing the problems.
