More on the contemporary side. I've got to say for me it'll always be David De Gea or Keylor Navas. Both amazing goalkeepers that have given me so much to cheer for and admire these past few years.

Casillas, without a doubt. Remember having his jersey when I was a kid.

Neuer before his injury was something else. best keeper i've seen in 30 years. even Buffon said that.
Now he isn't even a Top3 Bundesliga keeper- sad. Same story with Casillas.
Cech & de Gea always excellent but they miss the personality that Kahn,Schmeichel and Buffon had.

  1. Buffon/Kahn
  2. Schmeichel
  3. Neuer
  4. de Gea
  5. v.d.Sar
  6. Casillas
  7. Chilavert
  8. Cech
    10.Barthez

Oh I remember Chilovert! He was amazing at free kicks and man was a he boss in his national team! It was like papa taking his kids to football a tournament.

Goalkeepers now days don’t have charisma that goalkeepers before used to have and passion was amazing too!

Lev Yashin has to be the best GK of all time, stopped over 150 pens in his career more than any other keeper and also the only keeper to win Ballon Dor, but since I didn't see him play I will go with Buffon and Khan, then a prime Cech, Van Der Sar and Schmeichel

The favorite keeper that I actually experienced is Victor Valdes. Definitely not the greatest of keepers, and he probably won't go down in any history books, but very entertaining. He had a great spirit, and there were some games where he played outstanding (while at Barcelona). His career slowed down after Barça, but nevertheless, my favorite keeper of all time.

I really liked Lehmann. Neuer was really good as well.

Van der Saar and De Gea since I am United fan. Also Kahn and Neuer. And probably not the best but very iconic for me was Dida.enter image description here

Have to go with De Gea, I sadly didn't get to see a lots of the other keeper in the past last ten year but I do realize they were a lots of amazing one. Still, De Gea on a good day is as good as any of those. ;)

I am surprised no one ever said Fabian Barthez. I remember how they used to kiss his bold head for luck. I know his spells wasn't so great at United but he was at one point best goalkeeper in the world. Also, his last performance in 2006 WC was worthy of huge respect!

+1 Yeah Valdes was good, pity he didn’t play more for Spain at the time. He was the absolute scourge of Man Utd
