What players would you like your club to sign? Obviously realistic signings, and in positions that the club actually needs.

For Real Madrid, I'd like:

  • Danilo (Done)

  • Gaya: Apparently Coentrao is leaving, and Gaya has been strongly linked with Real, so would love for him to join

  • Verratti: Good player with all round good abilities, good defending, young, passing, and would be a great player to rotate the squad with

  • A striker: No names come to mind, but a striker Benzema will compete with and can rotate with to keep the squad fresh. Honestly would love Aguero, but that isn't happening. Lacazzette would be a decent option as well, but his price tag is probably in the 50m-60m range.

Arsenal:

  • CDM - There are plenty of options. Most Gooners want Schneiderlin or Carvalho, however Lars Bender is very good option.

  • CB - For CB I always wanted Maicon from Porto. He has very acceptable price and he is great defender. I wonder did Wenger ever think to buy him?

We need a backup striker for Benzema and a fresh replacement for Kroos because the poor lad plays way too many games. Gaya would be great too because I doubt Coentrao will stay for much longer. Other than that, we are good.

I also want Khedira and Illarramendi to leave the club. Same with Arbeloa and Casillas.

+Pogba : Possible move.

+Verratti and Marquinhos : PSG wont let them go.

+Mario Perez ( Villareal ) : To replace Dani Alves, wont have any competition on this player, young and talented, impressed me vs Atleti and Madrid.

+Abdennour ( Monaco ) : Rock solid, impressive in the air, incredible in marking, smart, powerful and fast, not very expensive imo and probably no competition on him. Will come to work his a$$ with no ego or coach contestation.

A swap Pedro <-> Fabinho - Abdennour or Moutinho.
Sell Delofeu and Tello for 10M each cheap price, bring back Denis Suarez from loan and give him with Sergi Roberto more playing time, keep encouraging Rafinha who is good enough to make rotation in midlefield, Rakitic didnt impressed me enough, good player but Barça can find better.

For the next 1 and a 1/2 seasons

  • CM Paul Pogba - Will probably be used in CM along with Matic and Cesc or Oscar would play in CAM (everyone rotates). If we got money, take Youri Tielemans for the future.

  • CB Raphael Varane or Aymeric Laporte- Terry is amazing, but Varane/Zouma would be ideal CB partnership for the next generation. I know all Madrid fans love him but a big money move may persuade Perez.

  • GK Ben Foster - Cech may well leave in the summer and we need another keeper. I wanted to keep Schwarzer but that didn't happen. IT's unlikely that a young player with potential will warm our bench so Foster would be possible. We could also get Simone Scuffet and loan him out.

  • LB/RB Matteo Darmian - In my opinion, the most underrated player in the world. I've watched himplay quite a lot and he hardly ever disappoints. As Ivanovic grows older (Darmian is 25 btw), he may play with Azpi on the flanks for some time.

I know this seems like a lot, but Oscar (about 35m), Ramires (about 18m), Cech (about 10m), Ivanovic (12m) and Salah (about 12m) may leave. This adds to 87m which obviously won't be enough, but will help us against FFP rules. Foster and Darmian together will hardly be 20m.

"I know all Madrid fans love him but a big money move may persuade Perez."
Lol, big money moves never persuade Perez. He himself decides when a player will be sold and who it will be, and he intentionally squeezes out the most money he can possibly get from that player. Robinho, Ozil, and di Maria are the best examples.

It was just a simple comment.

I was meaning that 20m may not be enough but he may sell Varane if we offered 40m.... even if he wanted to keep him. I get your point that he doesn't sell who he doesn't want to sell but that won't be the case forever.

Dynastian98 10 years ago

@Eden

Perez doesn't sell who he believes is important to the club. If Varane is important to Madrid in his mind, then he is never selling him. We make half a billion Euros per season from revenue, 20-40 Million will hardly be any different to us. If Perez doesn't see Varane as important to the club, which I highly doubt he does, he would have sold Varane already for massive amounts of money.

CB: My first choices would be Varane and Otamendi, but both of them seem pretty unrealistic, as Real are going to demand a s.hit ton of money for Varane, while Otamendi will want to play CL as a regular rather than probably making sporadic appearences for another club. So I'd probably go for Abdennour, for the same reasons that @tiki has listed.

CDM: Once again, I'd go for someone who doesn't come in with the expectation to start every game right from the moment he arrives (Lukaku, eh?), but for someone, who'd be happy to play as a backup to Matic. I'm thinking of someone like Gonalons.

CAM: As I'm not the biggest fan of Oscar, who always fades away in the second half of the season and generally is inconsistent, I'd love to add a player like Isco, who performs week in, week out and has absolutely stunning abilities on the ball. As much as I like him, I know that this is unrealistic as hell. It probably would have been more likely if it wasn't for Modric's injury that allowed Isco to get a starting place. Now, there'd be a couple of players that I could see playing in the CAM role at Chelsea, but they are either playing for a PL rival or will probably cost a lot (Coutinho, Barkley, Pastore in case you're wondering who I mean). Most realistic one would be Firmino, but there's something about him that I really don't like. As for the Douglas Costa rumor, I'd probably be more excited if it was 2012, but nowadays, it seems like he didn't live up to the potential that he showed some years ago. The only other option that I can think of, is Brahimi, but Porto are a very unpleasant negotiation partner, so that probably won't happen, too. I guess we're stuck with Oscar then.

Contrary to the majority of the Chelsea fans, I wouldn't want us to move for Pogba. I mean, I really like him (he's one of my favourite players) and I probably wouldn't complain if we really bought him, but I see some problems with his addition.

  1. FFP: I think it's self-explanatory, really. If we move for him, we need to spend like € 70 million, while it would leave our main weakness open - a backup for JT and Cahill (other than Zouma). Considering the market situation atm, you gotta spend at least € 20 million for a good centre-back which would further exploit our finances. The Yokohama deal has made us stronger economically, but I don't want us to immediately get rid of all the money.

  2. Tactical awareness: Italian teams are usually considered as the masters of tactics, but Juve has a kind of free flowing system, where their midfielders have a lot of freedom in their actions. Under Mourinho you don't, especially not in the 2 CDM/CM positions. I'm not sure how Pogba would play in such a role, as he's known for going forward.

  3. Youth: His addition would send a bad signal to our young midfielders, as Pogba would be capable to play on a top-level for 8 or 9 years, giving them little to no chance of breaking through to the team. It would be bad news for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, especially, who looks like he'll be a more or less important part of the team next year. He also has a similar style to Pogba and I really, really want to see a youth product of ours finally getting a chance.

Top class CB and top class CDM:

What I'd sign: Javi Martinez, Varane or Laporte for CB AND Javi Martinez, Schneiderlin or W.Carvalho (if he's still as good as he was in 2013/14 season, I haven't seen him play this season)

Obviously these signings aren't too "realistic", but in the words of Will Smith - "Why'd you be realistic?"

Our options in CB role would be then: Koscielny, (new signing), Gabriel, Chambers (him and Wenger think he's better in CB role) and Mertesacker (5)
And in CDM: Coquelin, (new signing) and Arteta.

Considering there's already 4 CBs, I highly doubt Wenger will sign one. I'd play Mertesacker and Arteta in lesser games. We definitely need new CDM, 'cause if Coquelin gets injured or plays too much, Arsenal are screwed.

I think Arsenal have enough players in striker role: Giroud, Sanchez, Welbeck, Walcott, (Campbell, Akpom, Sanogo)

If all loan players come back, we have way too big squad, so some possible offloads:

Rosicky, Flamini, Podolski, Sanogo, Campbell and Hayden. I'd keep Rosicky, but if he wants to play even more, he should leave.

Would love to have Veratti, but wonder who will leave our team in summer.
IMO Veratti to Real for rotation would be devastating for him.

Mario Gaspar Perez.

edit : Barça transfer ban is really annoying, external issues are many but the dressing room looks solid and not affected by pressure, players should get a medal for making Barça boat not sink.

The MSN will cause many departures : Munir, Deulofeu, Tello, probably Sandro and Pedro all have a good level specially Pedro who has nothing to prove and part of Spain squad. Barça should at least get 60M from those players, but knowing them, they would get 30M max, Pedro would make most of it and other would be given almost for free as usual...

Honestly, nobody. We don't need anybody. Maybe De Gea? But we already have Navas.

Whatever @eden and @juanmata mentioned I partially agree with .

No way should we sale Ivanovic . He will leave whenever he wishes just like our other legends . He gave so much for our club and we should repay with same loyalty .

Also , I really enjoy hearing news that Sterling unsettled in Merseyside . He is quality , he is english and he is from London . He wants to win titles . Chelsea is the team he needs . I would love for him to join . I am still confused why we bought Cuadrado ( just to spend money we got from schurrle ? ) , and Willian never fully convinced me . Yeah he works like a horse but he is attacking player who rarely scores . Even when everything is set up for him , he still manages to miss it . Sterling will be great addition .

@Marcus

Exactly, Ivanovic will leave when he wants just like Cech will and we need to move for Sterling. For the past few seasons we've never had a fully established RM (like Haxard on the left) who starts every game. Sterling can improve to become this player, plus he's British which helps with any homegrown rules the FA throw at us.
