Two footed and studs showing is a straight red. Not sure about the ban but honestly. There has been no Arsenal fan on all forums on the internet that has said this wasn't a red.

Clear dive.
^^^ lol
It was straight red, wonder why 3 matches ban, maybe FA got point to reduce the "two footed" challenges.
Yeah, why the ban for this? I actually think a red is harsh, here, but even if it's a red, where did this ban come from? O.o
@fabryi, a direct red card (not a double yellow) is an automatic 3-match ban.
@Lodatz, 3 matches definitely sounds harsh. Rules are rules, I guess -_- Hopefully an appeal can be made. I have to say though, yellow or red, that was a dangerous tackle.
@ikoiko: Oh, my bad. I thought it was a double-yellow.
WORD
Football is such a pansies game these days, when you get a red for a challenge on the ball somethings wrong.
If he catches a leg with his studs high like this, the leg breaks. It was a totally idiotic challenge by flamini and a well deserved red card. And no football is not a pansies game. And as an arsenal fan you should know better. Do you want me to show you ramsey's leg ? I can't show you eduardo's as there is no recorded footage, the tv wouldn't show the injury because it was too shocking.
@KingHenry
Here's recorded footage of Eduardo's injury.
@man_utd thanks for the contribution, I'm not watching that though, it's too difficult.
OH GOD idk why I even wanted to watch that again. There you have it, Dephased. Players need the utmost protection from the ref. Can't argue that what Flamini did was worthy of a red card. Being so experienced he should've known better! I mean he clearly would have won the ball any way. I can find 100 examples that would help prove your pansy point, but this isn't one of them.
Straight red but 3 matches ban is far too strict for me. I don't even know why we can choose the number of matches banning. 1 should be enough. We are all human, we all make mistakes, this football rule disapoint me.
Really harsh for the ban, even harsh for a straight red considering that was an English game.
What are you guys talking about?? A straight red is a 3 match ban !!
100 % Red.
Red card justified.
yeah it's in the rules that a straight red for a dangerous play is a 3 match ban, if it's a tactical red (the ones you get when you cancel a clear goalscoring opportunity) it's only a 1 match ban, same if you get 2 yellows. And like ikoikoi said, players need the "utmost protection". You can always appeal against a red card anyways to get the ban lifted.
I've recently re-watched Falmini's red-carded tackle and for me it has to be a sending off, if not a heavy yellow card. It was an irresponsible tackle, not only because it was two-footed with the studs up but because he probably would have won the ball without the lunge. I'm very disappointed with it, and now we have 3 titular midfielders out. Way to go buddy.
Direct red or not?
