Here is something I decided I shall do myself (after reading a few articles here and there). I'll do a power ranking of the top 5-10 clubs in Europe. Naturally, it is only MY opinion, so if your opinion differs, feel free to comment where and why you disagree. With all due respect, have fun guys. :)

1. Bayern Munchen

Who else would it be? The reigning German and European champions have strengthened their squad with additions like Thiago Alcantara, Mario Gotze, and young Jan Kirchhoff, which essentially strengthens their defense, and already stacked midfield. Boasting stars like Ribery, Robben, Schweinsteiger, Neuer, Lahm, and many more players in their prime, and many young and promising players as well (Thiago, Kroos, Shaqiri, Kirchhoff, Gotze, Alaba, etc.), Bayern have the deadliest squad in the world. Expect big things from them next season as they'll be hungry for more.

2. Real Madrid

With new young signings Isco, Illara, Carvajal, and Casemiro, Real look keen on replacing that long-lost Spanish roster they were so proud of boasting. Perhaps not a "Galactico" project, but more a "Quinta del Buitre" kind of project. Already boasting world-class names like Ronaldo, Casillas, Ramos, and Ozil, Real seem eager to forget those locker room problems they had with Mourinho present, by bringing in a more introvert manager in Ancelotti, and assigning Zinedine Zidane as his assistant manager. Real will be eager to improve on last years results, as they fell short of the title to Barcelona, the Copa del Rey to Atletico, and missed out on the CL final on a shoestring to Dortmund (4-3).

3. Borussia Dortmund

Losing Mario Gotze may be a huge blow, but watch out, Jurgen Klopp is much more clever than he seems. By signing Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan, Dortmund have essentially signed two players who can play in all four positions up in attack. Mkhitaryan can cover for RW and AM, and Aubameyang for ST and LW. Not to mention that they already have Kuba and Grosskreutz able to cover in wing, and an extremely versatile Marco Reus. They also brought in Sokratis as a replacement for Felipe Santana, which is an extremely intelligent buy from Klopp. Gundogan, Lewndowski, and Hummels and co. may look as outsiders to the world after losing out Gotze, but one thing that Dortmund boast that Pep may have trouble handling in Bayern is that Dortmund are a TEAM.

4. Chelsea

Chelsea FC have confirmed the return of the "Happy One", and that in and of itself is one of the signings of the season. Jose Mourinho has inherited, what may possibly be, a better squad than he himself had built together the last time he was here. With the big boys in Lampard, Cole, Cech, Terry, and Essien, Mou has plenty of experience in his roster. Talents like Mata, Hazard, Oscar, De Bruyne, Schurrle, Lukaku, and Fernando Torres make Chelsea's firepower all that more terrifying. It may have took them a Herculean effort to win the Champions League in 2012, but expect them to go past teams with ease now that Mourinho is back.

5. Paris Saint-Germain

PSG have confirmed the signing of one of the best strikers in the world in Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan monster will undoubtedly add more firepower to their already stacked squad. Barely losing out to Barcelona in the Champions League last season (away goals), PSG look to be eager to build themselves not just a good squad, but a good TEAM. Losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva may be a huge setback, but those two haven't left the French capital yet, and that's what counts. The reigning French champions will be a deadly force in Europe next season.

We will rape Madrid and be Champions again, Psg over Barça, rip logic XD
Say what you want next year liga Campione is Barça ;) we will take titles and let you clasicos if it means more for you.

2- Dortmund ( rapped you fair and square) no need to explain, why they are 2nd, just obvious.
3- Barça ( liga champions semifinalists of cl)
4- Man utd ( Epl champions)
5- RM (semi-final CL)
6- Juve ( calcio champions)
7- Chelsea
For next year, we will see, i don't think Bayern will get CL we will see new ranks, until that time MAdrid is not top 3 deal with it.

and just because they progressed further than MY team in the CL, does this make them any better, did they end up winning the trophy?

Id have to agree with tiki taka's list (but swap Barca and dortmund around) based on last season. Although for next season, I really think Chelsea will be a threat. They have gotten Mou and have made some good signings...

If we're judging this based on the squad, recent history and management then I'm quite surprised by a few people who listed Chelsea out of the top five. This is a great thread that makes for great discussions (except when some people hear don't know what an opinion is and start an argument). +1

I'll try to think a list later on, right now though I'll keep playing FIFA.

Football is on the pitch, i'm sure RM and Chelsea will be strong in Fifa 14 but you can not establish the ranks of next year and dream about victory, if you ant to discuss this V do it. I'm waiting to see what your mighty teams will do.

chelsea isn't only fifa 14 best team but also have better stats than R Madrid in UCL in last 10 years and as i listed above that bayern at top than barca

That's the point. They're stuck with no solid partner for Pique.
Look, Carles Puyol is old. He can't be your first choice CB game in - game out anymore. You gotta have someone else. WIth Puyol aging, Pique is expected to lead the defense. But he doesn't. He's ridiculously inconsistent, and it seems as if Sergio Busquets is the only decent defender at times. Barca spent 57 million on the WRONG Brazilian. They should address their problems at the back more seriously and sign Thiago Silva, but of course that isn't going to happen anymore. You see, Barcelona's horrid defense allowed 66 goals in that season, with 4 goals coming against Bayern and 4 against Deportivo (a club which later got relegated). They can't "choke" out clubs forever, because clubs are figuring out how to play against them. They have to adapt, and a huge part of that includes buying a new defender. A QUALITY defender. If Bartra and Muniesa were given appropriate playing time, maybe they wouldn't have done so bad in the back.

I mean, we played 19 year old Varane against Barcelona, United, and Dortmund, and he did fine. Why? Because Mourinho gave him appropriate playing time. If Vilanova had given those kids more playing time, they would've been more experienced. I mean, why go and spend 57 million on Neymar when a wonderkid (Deulofeu) is in your own house?

I don't have any problem with ironfist and other RM fans, i just see everytime what you're meaning, i prefer people who talk directly... the problem is not RM i don't hate them, and when thay are good i admit it, the problem is maybe you.
It's not stupid to say that PSG are more powerful than Barça ? I watched all Barça and most of PSG games and i can tell you that your opinion is SHOCKING, when they played last year, Barça was at its worst part of the year and PSG in a confident time, Messi only played 70 min/180 but we still can beat them.
You are overrating your team and tell us that Barça is worst than PSG, are you serious ????
