I think its better if we lose this competition,its a waste of energy for our players.A top 4 finish is what counts for me.

@Jeffrey: I agree. Top 4 in the EPL should be the club's #1 priority. The problem is we can't just lose on purpose. That's just disgraceful... All I can say is I hope we lose.

But wouldn't it be better if you still do your best to win? If you added a Europa League trophy to your cabinet, you could have a chance of beating the Champions League winner this summer and win the UEFA Super Cup, which will be another trophy to your cabinet. So wouldn't it be better if you do your best in both the EL and the EPL?

And you guys also need to win the Super Cup to regain some confidence and pride, since last time you were hammered by Atletico 4-1.

@Dynastian: No offense to anyone who actually acknowledges the Super Cup but it's a stupid, unimportant trophy that can be won later. As for the Europa League, I would LOVE it if we won it. We would be the fourth European club to win both CL and EL and I think first EPL team to do that, but we are not a Europa League team. The more we stay in this competition the more likely the heavy amount of fixtures will get the best of us in the EPL. We also still have the FA Cup. I don't want my team to not fight in the competition. All I said is I HOPE that we get out. I'm sure Spurs fans would rather go out of the EL than lose their top 4 spot too.

If it were a straight choice, sure. But I for one would love to lift the EL Cup and also qualify for the CL. :D

As would I ;). Btw, I would love to see a Tottenham vs Chelsea final if we get pasted the QF and SF. You could also get your revenge from last season when we kicked you out of the FA and the CL spot... or we could make it worse for you guys >:D

Your point is? Just because we lost the Super Cup doesn't mean I now think it's stupid. It was always a useless cup made just to try to add more glory to UEFA. Honestly, I'm surprised a lot of people here give a shit about that cup.

Plus, we already beat Real Madrid in 1998 to lift the Super Cup.

Nevertheless, it is still a trophy, and it is still acknowledged as a major trophy by FIFA, so if you win it, you can add it to your trophy cabinet beside the CL trophy you have. ;)

Meh... We already have one by beating you guys before the Roman era. Maybe in the future we can win it again, but now is not the time to focus about it in my opinion.

@ME O_O... How come Winning Europa League Trophy is not important ? It's as good as Champions League to me and I agree with everything Dynastian98 said. Wishing your club to lose is not a good move for a real supporter, This is not capital cup one..

Well, in a way it kinda is. The Europa League is to the Champions League what the Capital One Cup is to the FA Cup. :p

@Lodatz All i meant is that winning The Europa League is as important as The champions league not because of the cup prize but look at the clubs playing in The Europa League they are all class and winning this cup is a must if you are playing in it. While Capital Cup One is more to try out the club's youngsters and see their potential :) and it's totally not the same.

Funnily enough, how you're describing the Capital One Cup continues to also describe how the top clubs in the Premier League typically view the Europa League, Alex. ;)

Don't get me wrong -- I'd love to win it, because it's about glory.

But you can't just pretend that because a lot of lower leagues treat it as seriously as the Champions League (because they'll rarely, if ever, have a chance of winning the CL), that this suddenly makes it as important to those clubs who have CL aspirations.

@Lodatz lol mate of course i would love to win the champions league but saying such things like "It's not Important" and yes we should lose it because we want to stay only on top 4 makes me feel the lack of ambition. as a Chelsea supporter and that we won The Champions league last season for the first time ever "even though we had many chances to win it before that" I'm expecting my team to win this league anyhow! at least we got out from the champions league with something. That's what i wanted to say. Still yes for me The FA Cup is better than the Europa League If that's what you want to know. But i explained my point about this Europa League cup and why we must win it. and for me you made The  Capital One Cup more important than The Europa League :) is that true? :P

You said that the Europa League is not like the Capital One Cup, and I said that compared to the Champions League, yes, it is. In exactly the same way as the Capital One Cup is not as important or as prestigious as the FA Cup.

For the elite teams of Europe, the Champions League is where it is at. If you're competing for the Europa League instead, then you're not an elite team. :p

That includes Spurs.
