England first game under Big Sam... not impressed

Anyone here saw the last England's game?

England 1 - 0 Slovakia by 94+ min goal of Lallana. England did dominate the game though (as expected). But that wasn't what we can take out of this game. Mind that Skrtel saw his stupid red card early in the 2nd half, thug move.

England's first game under Big Sam didn't impress nobody. They play almost exactly like in the European cup, pretty dreadful in my opinion, rush and a lot of wrong headless passes.

Sterling was very decent, I think Pep's magic works on him for now. Kane was dreadful and rather disappointing, may be my expectation was too high.

Dier was good beside Rooney. Btw, Rooney looked lost, his deep role was as confusing as the time under Luis Van Gaal, he's English icon but has been so poor for so long, may be they should bench him for once. Or work out his position. I think this deserve another thread.

The defenders didn't have much to do but looked ok.

To sum up: I haven't seen any impact yet positive impact of Big Sam on England, I saw the same old team and this way they wouldn't go NO WHERE!!! Guarantee! What do you guys think?

although this guy Kaka_CS was trolling, there is one good point he made. Gerrard couldn't be count on.

Anyway, talking about international level, England was pretty overrated, that's a huge sad fact. They had a golden generation of players like Gennady mentioned, but too much egos and the MEDIA killed them. Too distracted and were too over hyped before any tournament even started.

Their media has been the main enemy here.

I dont see the bright future for England, at least in the coming 5 years :(. Not with the players, nor the coach

@tuan_jinn Too true, England have been one has alway be one of the great when it came down to football and they developed something of an ego because of it. Back in the first few world cup, they already had so much of an ego that they refused to participate in the WC, they felt they were too great and didn't wanted to play on other continent either. At the end of the day, they could have won a few more World Cup if they had started back then. Wonder if they ever going to become as big as they were back then... :(

Am I the only one that think that any coach wont change England to a winning trophies nation until all FA old men got sacked. I mean there was a Spanish tactical and youth system revolution, followed by a German one more than a decade ago. And in England we are just firing coach after coach while for me the main reason is that the youth system has a serious problem.
I dont think any coach could solve anything and if he does it will be only a matter of time to end up in the same situation later, whole English formation system should be renewed....

@tiki_taka That remind me that one of the youngest and best english coach right now is Eddie Howe of Bournemouth, I mean, we're talking about a guy who led them to 3 promotions in 4 seasons in charge, resulting in the club playing in the top flight of English football for the first time in their history and which earned him the Football League Manager of the Decade Award and he's still younger than Totti. Thats one lad that could change a lot of thing for the English team in the future if given a chance, what you guys think?
