So, as you propably know, Carvajal is soon to rejoin real Madrid first team and I thought it was a good time to make such a thread. For me, Carvajal is one of the best player at his position, last season particularly, he played a key part in Real success. Personally, I alway found it too bad he seemed to pass under the radar and I consider him to be seriously underrated. Compare him to Marcelo, a player aclaimed as one of the world best at his position despite something leaving weakness in the defense, well in my opinion, Carvajal is nearly as dangerous in offense as Marcelo only, he is much more consistent in his defending imo.

So what do you guys think? Over or underrated?

Carvajal is the best right back in the world :) Not one of, but the best (imo). And he's played a few matches already after coming back from the pericarditis he was getting treatment for :p Also he's only 25! So he's got plenty of years left ahead of him to keep on adding more and more trophies and getting better.

@Yvan21 Nice to hear, haven't even realize he was already back. I share your sentiment, he's the best RB in the world imo as well (spanish have some of the best ever at that position in fact). Its true that he is still young as well, especially for a defender, he can propably be Real first choice RB for many years to come. :D

@Emo That's the plan for sure, which is why Danilo got out of there as soon as he could. Too bad for him it seems he's just warming up another bench. Back to Dani, he can totally become a Madrid legend I think and probably will be the future Madrid captain since he's been through Madrid's youth ranks.

Soooo underrated imo, he's class!!

He's not underrated at all. His position probably is, but I don't think I've heard anyone in the past few years argue against that he's one of or the best RB in the world right now.

@Sunflash You know what, I think your on to something, its really a shame people don't seem to consider LB and RB as important part of a team, especially when you consider that most succesful team has excellent player at those position. :(

I don't think think he is underrated. As @Sun said, for years people consider him amongst the best RBs in the world, and after last season pretty much everyone thought he was best.

Who'd actually come close to him?

Alves - inconsistent and average defensively, his last few games in knockout phase outshone his first half which was really really bad (talking about spell at Juventus). By his abilities close to top.
Kimmich - pretty close to Carvajal if you ask me, although both aren't perfect defenders. Otherwise they are two best RBs in the world imo.
Walker - fantastic under Pep but half a step under Carvajal.

There are still players like Valencia, Florenzi, Semedo, Meunier and etc. but they all have different cons, meanwhile Carvajal seems to be most complete RB in the world. Great player.

Better defender than marcelo, he always gives 200%. Best thing about him is his crossing and stamina, they guy can run the entire pitch and still have the energy to shout and fight with the opposition :D

@Croatian You are really obssessed with Kimmich aren't you? XD Not saying it as a bad thing, it just you mention him so often, its hard not to realize how much you rate and like the guy. ;)

^I seriously love him as a player ;) he is unbeliveably good. You know how good you are when you are arguably best performer in team full of stars and you have so much more years to develop... in position you've never played before. Kimmich is GOAT no bias

@Croatian You know what you said before about not putting too much pressure on a young player who still have time to develop. Lets just say your not really practicing what your preaching with Kimmich brother. XD But then again, I suppose he is good enough to receive that kind of compliment right now and not just in the future. :)

Haha, hard to not hype him. Same way it's impossible to remain neutral with Mbappe. Those are special players and watching them get better and better surely makes people excited.

@Soccer Well, at the end of the day, it helped you, kind of, I'm sure you don't have complain. I'm not even convinced he did on porpuse or not, he looked like he only wanted to stop the ball no matter what, sadly, there didn't seem to be any other way. And beside, we know Suarez is also a great keeper as well. ;P

@quikzyyy Real are not letting him leave and he got no reason to join Liverpool either though. :P

Edit: Even if he would be the best paid goalkeeper in the PL quikzyyy. :P
