Club or country ?

I wanted to know how the FR members felt about this question ? Do you like your national team or your club more ? For me it's definitely club. Watching the world cup was fun, and france played some good football, but Arsenal comes first. And that's why the international break is so boring in my opinion. And I'm not even talking about all the injuries players get during friendlies and other qualifiers. Anyways, what comes first for you ?

@wolfie arsenalgunners explained it well. When france was eliminated I rooted for arsenal players, and to me seeing ozil mertesacker and poldi lifting the cup was like a small part of arsenal winning the world cup.

@netsten I feel you ! I think us foreign fans don't get to experience that kind of things when it comes to our clubs. I watched the world cup this summer with a lot of people and it was great. I usually watch arsenal games alone because it's hard to find people who care about them as much as I do here in France. But I stayed in Islington London for one week in august, 15 minutes away from the emirates stadium. And watching the games with 30+ other fans in a pub is really something else. Also the fact that a lot of the people I met in Islington were arsenal fans. It trully felt like home to me. Way more than Lyon where I live right now. Not only because of football by the way, islington really is a great place.

The thing with this preference of club or country is that most of the users support a club from a country they dont live in or support a country they may have never been to. In my case, (living in a third world country) I support United and England but I also support my local club and the country where I was born and raised in. All of those teams have very different type of importance for me, and I believe this is the case for many people here.

club. messi plays better with the club than the national team, and anyway clubs can make transfers and that makes it exciting.

@KingHenry, Yes it's exactly that, everything would be different if I was living in London, I watch every Chelsea game, but most of the time alone at home, or with one or two friends sometimes, it's by far different for the national games because a lot more people are (for the occasion) interested in, lots of pubs put a TV for the WC, or big screen in the city square with 10K people is a complete different thing, and better at some points for the atmosphere, but as world cup and Euro are only every two years, it's definitely not enough for someone who like football.

Funny how his 666th comment has to have "Jesus Christ" in it, and his name is "Devil(z)". :D

lol^ Wolfie great pick as usual.

for me club and national team are on the same level, they both make me go nuts, in both bad and good situations.
