Chelsea 4 - 0 Man Utd

Mourinho came back to London 4 nothing haha. What an absolute hammering. Well played Chelsea! Terrible performance from the Red Devils. They were simply run off the pitch.

Top 4 this season is looking like it will be a miracle.
Strange homecoming for Jose. He's up to his neck now. It will take all the special one powers to dig deep and get back to the drawing board. Defense is really all over. Smalling played an impressively bad game. Was Pogba even on the pitch? Of course he can't do it himself. But what they paid for him, that's

CR7 money!! Come one. Surely. He's going to keep getting the pressure to perform because of the pricetag.

Last game against Liverpool they played with a small team mentality against a good but not great team. This game has just added more questions than answers.

Kante, what a smashing bargain. Well played Chelsea!

@Marcus2011 Wow, nice stat, where you got those info and please, don't say from your head, I won't believe you. :P But seriously, its doesn't mean much to be the best against one team in specific, you have to be the best against the most team. Its the true way of success. Still, I gotta say that after that game, I wouldn't be suprise to see Chelsea do well in their next game. :)

@emo Believe it or not, but it actually does matter when it comes to predicting the outcome of a game. United has had a hard time beating Chelsea for a long time. In fact they haven't beaten us in the last 11 games!! And that stuff matters. It's the mental part of the game. Or the unexplainable thing as I like to call it. why is it that certain teams have a hard time beating certain teams? Provided equal level. Because obviously players and managers often change dramatically over the years.

And my take on United:

They didn't put nearly enough pressure on Chelsea. At times it looked like they played 6 men in defence, all standing in a straight line, giving the Chelsea midfield and attack room to be both creative and to use the space given to us to advance. Playing deep with no pressure against a team like Chelsea simply does not work.

Smalling had a terrible game and was to blame for much of defensive weakness. Usually, I think Smalling is really good though.

And then we have the players that shoulnd't be in the starting XI. Blind is weak and slow. Fellaini is beyond me how they can start with him. He kills all the creativity. Zlatan is there to score goals. Nothing else. And shouldn't have to pick up the ball deep. Pass him the ball in the box and let him score. Or give him the ball to let him use those amazing feet of his to shoot. Pogba on the other hand should be able to pick the ball up deep to use his creativity and crosses. Instead, we have Fellaini there killing it all.

I'm not surprised Chelsea won this game. 9-0 in the 3 last games. Chelsea is getting accustomed to the new system and Conte. We were absolutely great against Leicester last game.

@KTB Seriously, if Conte keep this up, I can see Chelsea easily getting into top 3. :D One of the biggest weakness with Mourinho is that he can't seem to decide on a team he like with United, he seem to alway end up changing it up. He also doesn't play Martial for some reason. :( And the player he does insist on playing are either not doing what they should or out of position. :(

@emobot

I changed my mind to draw in last minute in prediction .. reason i did it because thinking that Mourinho will be very defensive . I should have followed the logic and see that United are still not strong and their record against Chelsea is bad especially at the bridge .

@Marcus2011 Thats fine, one of the thing I hate to do is changing my prediction cause if I get it wrong, I will just end up regretting it.

City were United's rebound I guess.

Makes me feel a bit better about the Chelsea outcome, even though we're nowhere near being as good as we want to be.

Pep now 6 games without a win yet we don't see anybody talking about a crisis in the blue half of manchester...

@saatvik10 Like I said on another thread, sadly, Mourinho is Mourinho, with the reputation he have and the reputation he give himself, there will alway be high attend from him. Being United manager is even worse for him as the club and fan alway have high hope for their club. Also, the fact that among the first thing he said as a manager at United was that he was aiming to win as much as possible over ending in top four doesn't help. ;(

@saatvik It's evident that United has bigger problems than City. City will bounce back soon and are still favorites to win the league. KDB has been injured too which creates a negative impact. There's a difference!

@KTB If you spent so much and brought in a new manager too, and if you're still relying on one player to make you win matches, you have big problems.

@saatvik: actually they do talk about City crisis, about Pep's worst start as a manager or longest non-wining streak he has ever had.

But beside that, their games still look quite promising, except to fight with more elite clubs, passing like that wouldn't work.

@saat United spent as much.. if not more in the past few years. And City would be favorites to win against United if both teams field their strongest XI.

It's true that they're in a long non-win streak, but the definition of a team in crisis is that they play badly, which they haven't in some of the games that City has lost.. Take the 4-0 loss to Barca for example.. City wasn't bad at all..

@KTB

"Take the 4-0 loss to Barca for example.. City wasn't bad at all.."

Actually, they were quite poor. All the goals were defensive errors. You can't defend their performance in that game anymore. They were decent offensively, though.

We were also not poor in the 1-1 draw against Stoke, or against Liverpool if you see our defensive performance.

What I'm trying to say that Guardiola has not got the amount of criticism for this winless streak equal to the amount of praise when he won his first matches. Everybody was talking about the PL title race being over before it started, how Guardiola was a perfect manager, City were even contenders for the CL trophy. I kept saying back then that it is only early days but nobody listened to me. I agree with @Emo that Mourinho will always get more negative attention from the media because he's Mourinho, while Pep I think deserves more flak from the media.

@Saatvik10 To be fair, we did compliment Manchester United defense, especialy Baily after their first few game under Mourinho. However, defense was already not bad last year from what I remember, and Mourinho is already known as a very decent defensive coach so the main problem with United is that they have a hard time scoring goal. They need more imagination when it come down to creating chance. :(

@dyn Fine. But those were individual mistakes that shouldn't have happened. But I fully understand that adds to be the bigger picture of City having a poor game against Barca. I mean play wise, they didn't have a bad game. They played well, got the ball rolling and were dangerous in attack, although also there they were bad in that case, since they didn't manage to score. I mean, a team in crisis don't play good football, which is something I believe City does, even though they haven't got the results to show for it. And yes, obviously they play even better football when they're in form. I wouldn't define them as a team in crisis. Chelsea was a team in crisis last year, because at times we just played really poorly.

This stat feels nice :P

Chelsea have taken eight more points from their first nine games than they did last season (11). This is the biggest improvement from all Premier League sides who were present in 2015/16.

YES!!^Not hard to improve on those stats when Chelsea underperformed as they did though I guess

Hey here is another fun fact . United fans here on forum accused us of buying glory , well here we are with United 1.2 billion pounds later and still counting , but no glory is back ..

This proves what United fans always told us , no amount of money can buy you class and glory . ;))

@Marcus2011 To be fair, not all United fans accused you of buying glory, lets not put them all in the same category. :P Beside, United were never in a good position to say you have more money than them as I believe they alway had lots of money as well.
