Berbatov: Best if I leave United

**Dimitar Berbatov has admitted it would be "better for everyone" if he left
Manchester United, saying Sir Alex Ferguson has decided on a price-tag of £5
million for him.

**
The Bulgarian striker, who has been frozen out of the first team
at Old Trafford by a younger generation of players, has been linked with moves
to clubs home and abroad for the past year.

And, with reports saying United were holding out for £10m for the
31-year-old, the former Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen forward set the record
straight in an emotional posting on his official Facebook page.

“Because I am tired of speculation, I am telling you this,” he started. “I
see they say £10m is my price, (so) I go and talk with Sir Alex, and he says to
me £5m. So who is telling the truth, what do you think?

“And the truth is I love this club, but I am not going to be useful to anyone
if I am not playing. I want to help.

“But for unknown reasons it’s not going to happen, or my chances will be
limited, so it’s better for everyone if we say goodbye.

“If not, I am professional and I will keep doing everything I can to help my
team and my team-mates, whenever I have the opportunity to do so.”

Berbatov has scored 48 league goals in 100 appearances since joining from
Spurs for around £30m in 2008.

But he fell out of favour halfway through the 2010-11 season, when he was
dropped from the team despite leading the Premier League’s scoring charts with
20 goals. He was left out of the squad altogether for the Champions League
final, which led to strong speculation he would leave last summer.

However, United held on to Berbatov, only to restrict him to just 12 Premier
League appearances this season, during which he scored seven goals.

The club activated an automatic one-year contract extension last season,
allowing them to command a fee for his services, and he has been linked to
Queens Park Rangers, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich and Paris
Saint-Germain, with reports also suggesting he could move to Turkey, Russia or
the United States.

Formerly Bulgaria's captain, he scored 48 goals in 77 matches before quitting
the international team in 2010.

Where d'you think he's gonna go? I think he'll go to milan, PSG or juventus

I've always thought that Berbatov was class. I still think he is. He didn't get enough opportunities at United though. It's a shame really...

Here is a piece of his genius. Absolutely amazing.

The best assist I've ever seen... It takes so much class and talent to even think on doing a move like that!

The only problem with Berbatov is his consistency, there were matches where he would  score a hat-trick but other matches he won't be getting a single pass or shot right... but I think it is good for him to leave now that he still plays very well
