How did north korea qualify because from what i remember they did not make the top 3 at asia cup 2011 and they are not involved in these qualifiers?

A tournament called the challenge cup where smaller and/or developing nations compete for a spot in the tournament, and maybe some teams are kept out of the main qualifying for political reasons hence why North Korea might be in the challange cup since they do have the calibre to compete with the big asian sides.

North Korea won the 2012 edition witch gave them a spot, the next spot will be given to the winner of the 2014 edition this summer. These are the teams involved

however this will be the last ever challenge cup as the idea is being scrapped in an effort to expand the asian cup. The asian cup will be 24 teams instead of 16 as of the 2019 edition.
