Well hey. At least the PL youth teams are whipping arse!
Pretty much, haha. The senior squads can learn a thing or two from the youth... Mostly the senior Arsenal squad -_-
come onnnn arsenal
The chase for silverware is still on for arsenal!
Good news, Gunner! Here's a full list of the quarterfinals:
Chelsea - Juventus/Rosenborg (Norwegian club for those who wonder)
Tottenham - Sporting Lisbon
Arsenal - CSKA Moscow
Aston Villa - Olympiacos
Four out of six English clubs in the quarters. Impressive!
Chelsea will win, we destroy the little Barcelona but CSKA is really strong!
Tottenham vs. Sporting Lisbon now that's a match!
are any of these games broadcasted?
arsenal has the best scouts in the world...
^ Really? What about Barca?
@Believe,
Quick assertion there. I don't want to sound self-absorbed above my club, but I believe Porto has shown the most, particularly from the last few years, in order to get that appellation. I'd say Arsenal is more of an academy-based club than a scouting-based one. Cole, Clichy, Wilshere, Song, Bendtner and more all came from the Arsenal Academy, whereas Porto have their main focus on scouting. It's certainly open for discussion, though.
@ramaboy,
Well, just like is the case with Arsenal, I'd rather say Barca is a talent producer all the way from the start. Scouting clubs focus on finding players when they're around 20 years, where they have already come far in their process. However, Barca has definitely got among the best academies in the world.
lol some guy in my class plays for Arsenal youth academy
@ramaboy: nice, are there any yt vids of him?
Sporting beat Spurs 5-3. You got what you wished for, Lodatz; it really was a cracker of a match! Also, Chelsea beat Juventus 4-1. Lovely youth team. Here's how the semi-finals look so far:
Chelsea - Arsenal/CSKA Moscow
Aston Villa - Sporting
There can actually be three English clubs in the semis if Arsenal proceed!
I hope we get through... we have a bad history with Russian teams but luckily we are playing at the Emirates. If we get through a Chelsea v Arsenal semi would be tastey.
@Golden or anyone else, do you know where I could watch a video of the Sporting vs Spurs match or at least highlights?
@Footaholic: I can't seem to find any, but I did find two good articles whose sum-ups are pretty good.

this is the highlight i got for nico's goal against inter

Actually, for those who are still interested in seeing the upcoming Inter youth (and Arsenal youth) you can watch the entire match (and all the previous NG matches) here:
Nicholas Yennaris collected the ball near the centre circle, drove forward and beat Di Gennaro from 30 yards with a magnificent shot that crept inside the post. Pure class.
FS: Inter Milan 0-1 Arsenal
Arsenal will now join Chelsea, Tottenham & Aston Villa in the last eight.
