Arda wants out of Atleti: "We run too much here"

For many, 'less is more', and that certainly appears to be the case for Arda Turan. He did not use those exact words, but the Turk has explained his reasons for wanting to leave Atlético de Madrid: the money on offer at other clubs and the physical demands of Simeone's playing style.

The club had wanted the player to say exactly what he wanted, rather than listen to his agent. Following the trip to China, that conversation finally took place over the phone and the midfielder apologised for Ahmet Bulut's behaviour, but confirmed what his agent had said: that he wants out.

He wants to leave because he is struggling with the physical demands of Cholo's game. He would rather play in a system in which he is exempt from defensive duties. Arda missed several big games with what seemed to be minor injuries, including the last game of the 2013/14 season, the Champions League final, the last game of last season and the key game in their quest for third place, against Granada.

Atlético have told the Turk the conditions under which he may leave the club. His buy-out clause is €41m. Although they may not insist on as much, the club will only listen to serious offers.

from Marca.

I understand Turan, being under Simeone could be really painful physically and mentally, the player may be tired and not paid the amount he deserves, at least what less talented players earn elsewhere. A departure would be good for him and for Atleti if someone wants to match his buy out clause, he excluded joining a Spanish team, he will listen to PSG and PL teams offers...

Jackson Martinez and Vietto who are doing the opposite move are warned...

From another point of view on Atletico developement, they should grow faster as a club and be able to increase their players wages depending on what they achieved and their importance in the squad, or they will see their main players leave after making a name like at Porto.
They offer a little more than Porto playing in la Liga and highering a bit the wages, but with the quality and hard work demanded by their coach and club, its hard to refuse to go overseas and double the wages...

The Porto model of getting value/Good scouting/ big progression/ getting value again is paying and gives a strong financial stability, but if Atleti wants to compete in domestic titles and give a fight in Madrid derbies and CL, they should keep the players that are key like Koke, Godin, Griezmann...

Their transfer policy, investing on approved talented youngsters like Griezmann, Jimenez and Vietto is very good for the future following a long term plan, but it costs some time to setle and progress, and this would make them being future contenders but not current, but if the players they formed and helped to progress are sold when they reach maturity and be ready for a season race, then Atletico could say goodbye to the league trophy for a while.

What do you think about the player ? His aspirations ? And what policy should Atleti followknowing that El Cholo isnt leaving in the near future....

Cerezo (president Atletico): "Offers from Man Utd and Chelsea? Yes, there were several offers, but he preferred to move to Barcelona"

Bulut (agent Turan): "We didn't talk with Chelsea at any moment. Barça have always been Arda's first option."

Not sure if he's going to be a good signing considering he has to wait until Jan 2016 to play. In the meantime, he's going to be making kebabs for the club every week!

So I heard that Barcelona will try to loan out the players that they've bought who aren't allowed to play in order for them to get game time. Always loop holes in FFP.. UEFA/FIFA has to do something about this.. Otherwise there is no punishment whatsoever..

@JuanMata10 Yea, would definitely try kebab from Turan then.
@KTBFFHSWE Totally agree, these bans means almost nothing.

Well they do, otherwise for example PSG would have bought every great payer with the money of Qatar.

Turan wages : 110k£ per week, 5.75M£ a year. In Atletico he used to earn 80k£, but players know that the visibility, the adds and the achievements bonuses make the difference, if he wants money he will earn it on the field by winning.

<< Asked about the difference between managers Luis Enrique and Diego Simeone, he said "With Luis Enrique I still have to work a bit to be able to compare, but Simeone was very special for me and will always have a special place in my affections. It was great fun working with him and I'm sure it will be the same with Luis Enrique".

Arda denied that he had ever felt tired at Atlético because of excessive physical effort. "I have always liked to suffer in order to win, and now I am coming to a new system of play, I am going to change and I hope to adapt. At Atléti I was successful because I worked hard, and I am going to do that here". >>

Iniesta reports for duty before time :

*Had holidays until wednesday. ( Barça started training on monday )

Barça returned to workafter the summer break and were met with a welcome surprise.
The first wave of Barça players to come back for the pre-season was supposed to consist of 12 men. The rest of the squad have been given permission to return later on, as they had previously been playing for their national teams.

Luis Enrique wasn't counting on Andrés Iniesta, who put a smile on everyone's faces by turning up at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper complex to take part in the team's activities.

The Spaniard is aware that with the arrival of Arda Turan, he will have a much bigger fight on his hands than usual to keep his place and maybe for this reason he decided to get down to training sooner rather than later.
