Of course bro, I always will. I don't enjoy losing though. The attractive football sometimes turns to full heart attacks.

He can play LWB, better to play Lemar than Bellerin. In 4atb he can play LM.

Seri and Dembele are almost done deals for Barcelona, reports say. So Messi should chill this season and save himself for the World Cup!

Lolll this you guys on Messi and Ronaldo again? And on EPL switch again? Worthless discussion

Watching Barca now, they are tearing ATB apart, no Suarez, no Neymar... Everyone does ok, but really no spark passes from the mid. Messi hit the woodwork 3 time lolll. Poor guy. He looked brilliant but sad the whole game, kept looking down.

Barca need new world class signing soon

@tuan Sadly the combinations and passion faded away, we can't afford loosing Messi right now. Glad we won tho.

@tiki

Assuming Messi recreated the same 0.7 GA he has in the UCL vs EPL teams, he'd score less than 30 a season, and wouldn't even have scored more than Harry Kane last year, since Kane's GA was higher. I still doubt he could hit even that, but "destroyed" is nevertheless still quite a leap.

Also worth pointing out that Ronaldo played at United for 3 seasons before he was on the level we associate with him, so at least 12 of those games from the stat you shared are cherry-picking at best, not to mention that he played significantly deeper than Messi ever has for most of that, but that's just scratching an itch of mine.

Lolll this you guys on Messi and Ronaldo again? And on EPL switch again? Worthless discussion

Tbh I don't disagree, but it just annoys me when homers make grandiose statement that they have no real basis to make. We can't just "assume" that Messi would "destroy" the EPL, especially when no one has even come close to doing in England what Messi, Ronaldo, and even Suarez did in Spain, despite two of the above spending a healthy amount of time there.

So you are assuming big four have same level than the bottom clubs of PL ? You're smarter than that.
0.7 against top 4, I don't think we can compare big 4 defenders to weaker clubs. Knowing that in England top teams are on top because they are more tactical, big games are less British in their approach, look at Spurs vs Chelsea where Conte used a compact 5-3-2. You can't compare it to West ham style or Burnley's...
+30 goals is a standard for a player of Messi caliber no matter the league he plays in.

Suarez last season in England, he averaged more than 1,1 goal per game, knowing he got 7 games ban and wasn't shooting PKs. If Suarez got the help he had at Barca the stats would be higher...

So you are assuming big four have same level than the bottom clubs of PL ? You're smarter than that.

The defenses are certainly more equal in the EPL from top to bottom, and the best of them are superior to the La Liga ones, even Atletico's defense statistically. I mean, there was a team in La Liga that allowed 94 goals in 38 games last season.

Regardless of what metric you choose to use, players and teams score less in the EPL. In terms of teams, 100% of the time (averaged out, obviously), and in terms of players, nearly always. I cannot think of a player off the top of my head who did well in England yet couldn't do well in Spain, while the opposite is the standard.

In regard to Suarez, his 13/14 season in terms of goalscoring alone is totally unparalleled in England. It's also worth mentioning that when he moved to Barcelona the following season, not only did his goals per game go up, but he scored more that season than Messi - again without taking PKs. As much as I hate the guy, prime Suarez in those two years was the best goalscorer on Earth. And don't get me wrong. I really hate that guy.

You will no doubt reply to this and that's fine, but like tuan said, I'm going to let it go. I didn't want someone to just crap on the EPL, if someone's going to do that, they may as well do it with things that can actually be proved, like how shite it is in Europe, and not with pure speculation that has very little legitimate basis in reasoning. I've done that, so going on is without purpose.

So Chelsea defense and Burnley is the same ? Wow.
You are actually making weird claims for me right now, how scoring against bottom clubs in PL is equal to scoring against big four ? I need a proper explanation...

Players who scored more in PL than previous leagues :

  • Aguero, Torres, Sanchez who came in mind very fast and probably many others scored more in England than any other league and it doesn't on league strength but players peak.
    Bale has never reached his PL stats while Suarez surpassed it.

And other thing, when you have best teams in Europe in the league, the chances of big scores are higher than when your best teams can't make it further than quarters in same competition ( CL for instance)

At the difference of some biased PL fans, when we see 0-4 or 4-0 of United with 3 goals in 3 minutes in wide space areas, i don't actually point a weak defense I just say the style there is different. Imagine MSN or BBC in that kind of circumstances, i personally can't.

@SunFlash and most Chelsea fans: Sadly as much as I want to defend EPL I must agree with the counter statement @tiki said here.

They are NOT equals, watching the last 2 rounds, and last year football, the weaker teams in EPL are nowhere near the top team in term of defense and organizing, they are playing the naive strong-push-run football... :( technically bad. The only similarity are: strong and good build.

Scoring against Chelsea was and is MAD difficult. On the other hand, I believe top elite teams in Europe last year, Real, Barca, PSG, Bayern... can score for fun against lesser teams in EPL (that's pretty normal thing to say). That to say to what you think: defends are equals from top to bottom. It's simply not true.

Of course there are no statistic to prove neither our point, but I can take German's team as an example, We all things German football are smart, solid, equals. They still got trashed 5 1 from time to time when facing Real or Barca... It's the matter of games and performances.

We can't deny those teams are at this point too strong so let's say any comparison are irrelevant. The only thing we can talk is based on face-to-face, stats and cups.

And as much as we want to claim how good EPL is, we need a couple of more winning in the CL to say anything.

These guys before EPL
Aguero - prospect rising star.
Torres - rising star.
Sanchez - wings and rising star who was turned into striker .

Tiki you like bending info in your favor . Same old tricks.

Give EPL time and they will reshuffle in CL. We just learning how to handle money and tell la liga teams to f&ck off with their moves to buy our best players for anything less than 100 mil. Tables have turned. Now sit back and enjoy EPL clubs slowly will go back to top in Europe. You are talking as if La liga have been establishing dominance in CL with Spanish players. Piss off. These mocks come to EPL cherry pick our best players and go back to win Europe ( often with magic of the referees) and come back to use CL as argument that their piss league is better? Go conviene Sport broadcasting companies and consumers . Lower teams can't even pay wages.

I can speculate like tiki and have more data to back up that Those days are over. Soon there will be even bigger revenue flow to EPL and say as much you want but money brings you trophies.

Now you can argue as much as you want and I will let reality and EPL inevitable growth of the league strike you with facts. I said it once and I will repeat it again soon playing EPL will be just as prestigious as playing in CL which is ultimate competition for every player.

Actually Marcus i spoke about players Peak at the difference of the usual look at Ronaldo typical useless argument. never said that its easier to score in a league more than the other. Just pointed that what can be applied on Ronaldo could also be applied on Aguero.
Both Aguero and Torres were in a team where its complicated to score goals, because its easier to break records when you have world class feeders all arround the pitch.

Sometimes its more instructive to hear the opposite view than the same old pundits hype, my point have also been updated hearing opposite views than mine, im not taking them as an offense to my beliefs, Anyway lets get back to the topic, seems that Messi is staying :)

prepare yourself guys!

Paris Saint-Germain are close to agreeing a £128m deal to sign Monaco star Kylian Mbappe, according to Sky in Italy.

EDIT 1: PSG have made initial loan move for Kylian Mbappe, which includes Lucas Moura moving in the other direction. We also understand the deal is with an agreement to buy next summer. PSG are mindful of meeting UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules following the world record signing of Neymar;

What a bad move that will be for Monaco, strengthening even more their biggest French rival at the moment. And PSG will be well on their way to monopolize the French league and Cup for the next 10 years at least.

@tiki

I am sure nothing will ever change your mind about La Liga status nor my mind unless it becomes so evident that you will be forced to admit it :)) So yes lets get back to topic.

PSG is basically taking a piss at UEFA .. what a joke .

@yvan21

PSG is doing samething that Bayern does and that is why I rarely care what's going on there unless Dortmund and Bayern plays against each other.

  • Tuchel to Chelsea coulb be a thing. :(
  • Barca out of Seri race to focus on Coutinho and Dembele. :(
  • Vardy and Drinkwater to Chelsea?
  • Raul Jimenez could be an Everton target.
  • Barca are making a fourth Coutinho bid after all.
  • Nampalys Mendy to join Atalanta on loan.
  • Barca to target Di Maria if they fail to sign Coutinho.
  • Keita Balde could be a Spurs player before the end of the transfer window.
  • Mateo Kovacic could be a target for Liverpool after the club failed to sign Keita from Leipzig.
  • Liverpool might also move for Benedikt Howedes.
  • Inter want Mustafi, on loan, with a clause to buy for 20M+ pound. Seem like this would be stupid for Arsenal.
