2015: Real Madrid miserable start

Real Madrid, Croatia 26 797

I don't know what to say, after the athletic match, I was speechless. Isco aside the whole team was terrible the whole year, Ancellotti keeps saying he is going to fix things, and still no reply. After the madrid derby, i thought things might change, but no shit happened. The 4-3-3 needs to stop. We need stop with all the crossing and possession style, we are only a threat at attacking and counter-attacks.

Out of form:-

Ronaldo: He lost his hunger and motivation after the club world cup, hate to say it, but selfish ronaldo is 10X better than now.

Bale: idk, one game he is amazing the second off the drain, yes, he starts to dribble more but hasn't made a huge impact in most games, hope he gets his form back.

Benzema: i feel like benzema only plays excellent when it comes to Barcelona, other than barca, he is just a typical normal striker, he has a weak finish, doesn't shoot a lot and barely dribbles, we need him to at least start to come back to the middle of the pitch to create counter-attacks

Kroos: He hasnt been in form nowadays, still better than bbc but we need his vision, hope modric comes back asap to keep kroos alive

In-form:-

Isco: the lad is just amazing, he has done way more than bbc in almost all the 2015 matches.

Varane: a solid rock at the back, he isn't the best young defender, he is one of the best defenders.

the other players haven't changed much but didn't go off-form at least.

I feel 4-4-2 is our option when modric and james aren't around, we will have a better defence and midfield.

GK: Casillas/Navas

Def: Carvajal----Varane----Pepe------Marcelo

Mid: Bale--Kroos---lucas---isco

Att: Benzema--Ronaldo

we i'd like to hear your thoughts and opinions of this, hope the best for madrid in the up-coming matches.

Hala Madrid!

This is borrowed from one of the spanish commentators but Real Madrid players look complacent. Since all the injuries the starting line up is pretty much confirmed weeks in advance. This is bad for the team. There needs to be constant competition between the players to keep them on their toes or else they will find themselves on the bench.

Ronaldo seems to want every ball to go to him and throws fits when he doesnt get it. That attitude is also harmful to the team. Bale has moments were he is doing amazing and moments he just doesnt even exist in the pitch, i guess the pressure and lack of support from the fans is getting to him.

Unless some changes start happening soon, I can see this awful form continuing and like always it will end up with the coach being sacked.

3-4 to Schalke at home... I'm at loss for words.

Bale. He should be benched for this performance. 4-4-2 definitely can't be played with Bale right now considering his performance.
Awful game and Awful defence from Madrid.
Isco was damn good. He deserves all the praises.
It was great to see Modric back again. He showed his ascendance on the midfield.

@Dynast you should be happy for qualification, considering the circumstances...Could have been worst.
Form is temporary, but rather play awful and qualify than play awful and be knocked out.

It's time Casillas is dropped. That performance was shameful. And Bale is f**king useless. I can't believe Lodatz actually tried defending his performances with Madrid this season. He's been god-awful all season long. Shame on him. He was brought in to help Ronaldo, but he is simply hindering him now.

@Marcus

"Madrid fans quickly forgot about 20 game winning streak that was hailed so much . Honestly without any intent to insult , I can't disagree with them, it was not that much impressive ."

  • If that was Chelsea, Chelsea fans would be ecstatic about a 22-match winning streak. Don't act like you're not impressed. That was a phenomenal run of form. Only one team had a longer winning streak, and we have Marcus2011 claiming it's 'not that much impressive'.

Here is what I thought

First half:-

Real madrid were terrible offensively and defensive, Ronaldo and isco were our best players. We were open the whole time, Sane and huntelarr were easily cutting through thanks to varane and pepe terrible positioning.

Remarks:- In important matches varane and pepe cant play together and ffs ancellotti why the fuck are you letting arbeloa and coentrao play

Second half:-

After the arrival of luka and marcelo we were playing better than the previous three matches, we controlled the game completely than nacho came in and we were no better than levante in defence.

We need ramos so much for the classico, we might win against levante without him, but if he isnt playing on the classico, i bet MSN are gonna score hattricks each.

Our best players overall:-

Ronaldo Modric and Isco. maybe benzema as well.

Schalke:-

The whole squad + fans

*"you should be happy for qualification, considering the circumstances...Could have been worst.*Form is temporary, but rather play awful and qualify than play awful and be knocked out."

I know, but when you club is the most expensively-built team in the world, you can't help but think that maybe it's a slight problem when you lose to a team of teenagers at home. No credit taken away from Schalke, they were fantastic. But we were absolutely awful. Worse than the 4-0 hammering against Atletico.

i agree with dyna, having a team with all-stars and getteing demolished by a team that we actually ripped a apart 6-1 just last year on their home, man they already repaid that 6-1 with this perrformance!

Bale was horrible in latest matches for Real..

This might be pretty mainstream comment, but the problem with Bale might've started because his only job in the team is to feed C.Ronaldo to make him look better. When he hasn't done it -> Booing -> low on confidence. Just a thought.

Real Madrid 20 755

@DecentK His job isn't to feed Ronaldo, he scored plenty of goals and assists last seasons, and played great as well. This year, he simply isn't doing either, specially in 2015.

But still you're still in and its huge consolation, cant put myself in Schalke fans position at the moment...
But i understand the critics...

^than why the hell are they letting him take FKs, i know the fans are pathetic for booing and absurd, but why do people judge that its his role to feed ronaldo, no one knows what are they talking in the dressing room, for all i know its because after that one time bale didnt pass to an open ronaldo to tap it in he took a shot which almost cost the team's victory since he missed it than the fans all started to boo him these days. But i know you are better than the plastic fans and media so judge as a football fan, and not from news and other kids.

though i agree that booing will lose his confidence on the pitch and relationships with the players

Even Zidane, CR7, and Ronaldo were booed at one point in their RM careers, it is something Bale should have been prepared for something like this, if he's a world class player, then he needs to regain the fans again, like all of the players mentioned previously did, but currently he's only making it worse.

If he keeps this performance and doesn't improve or doesn't regain the fans. He will be gone at the end of the season. He is not suitable for Ancelotti's tactics or changes for now with this unproductivity.

You answered it yourselves . Multibillion Team full of expensive stars . If Chelsea was multibillion team with Bale and Ronaldo and co stars , having similar streak I would not be very impressed . I would be happy but not impressed . Why ? Well I like when things are fair and square ! I like underdog situation or equal in strength , ofcourse that can only happen when you meet big clubs . Small clubs are always underdog , so when Chelsea beats them I get happy that we got another 3 points but not impressed with the way we beat them , because it should be routine .

Out of that list you faced two worthy opponents and both were in terrible form . It is my opinion , you are welcome to disagree , but that is how my brain thinks . If present Liverpool or present form Barcelona have played that match , it would have been probably different .

In case of Chelsea , Again like last season when we beat United 3-0 . It just was not same satisfaction when we beat powerful United with Sir Alex ferguson in charge , 3-0 at their home ground . That is impressive to me . And I would not have been impressed if during our assumed winning streak we meet Barcelona who can't keep simple defense line together and cant sort out their attack. I would have been very happy but not impressed . I want full force Barca like the one in 2012 . I could not believe we pass them, because they were powerhouse .

It is not that Madrid run out of steam when they met Valencia . It is that Valencia was the first big team that were in form and was very well organized . Again multi billion dollar team full of stars . Credit is due , Great performance , great run but not making me say " wow how did they manage it " !

^ Agreed but i would add Villareal and Malaga in the list of good teams, that would make it 4 teams instead of 2.
But anyway even easy games should be won, week in week out its not that easy, to keep motivation, form, luck on your side...
Sometimes you get surprised by a second division team and sometimes you outplay a better side than yours, so its fifty fifty, i agree partially with both of your views...

  • Exactly. How many times has Chelsea gone on a fabulous winning streak like that? They haven't because no matter how much money is put into a team, it still takes an immense amount of discipline, concentration, and self-confidence to go on a tremendous winning streak like that. It's a world record for the 2nd-longest winning-streak in football. That's amazing for me. But it means nothing if we win no trophies at the end of this season. And right now, the future is looking grim.

Di Matteo comments after match...

"We played a great game and we dreamt of going through. We scored four goals against Real Madrid but we are not going through to the next round. We are happy, but also sad. We had a little bit of bad luck, we hit the post in both games.Cristiano Ronaldo made the difference in the first leg and also tonight. We made things difficult for Madrid. The atmosphere was not easy for them. Ancelotti is still a top, world-class coach.

We didn't allow them to dictate the game and it's not easy to play under pressure. Real Madrid have a very good coach that knows perfectly what he has to do.

Our team is young but they gave everything tonight and we feel good. We scored four goals and played bravely. When Real Madrid play everybody expects a victory. There is a lot of pressure here and supporters have the right to show their opinion."

Ancelotti comments after match...

"I'm so sorry because, as everyone has seen, we played very badly. It's not good for the club. We deserve the whistles [of the fans] but they will motivate us more. I still trust this team because I know what they can give. We have to work more.

Nobody likes these kind of games. We tried to fix the defensive problems [at half-time] because we were not well organised. We failed in many respects.

I don't think about being fired. I have to do better and make the team play better than tonight. We were under pressure until the last minute. Anything could have happened.

The players and myself are the key to fixing this. We lost confidence in our game and our identity, so we can't play how we want. We are professionals and we never look ridiculous. We play badly, make mistakes but never look ridiculous.

Things change very fast in football. Nobody could have imagined something like this in December. The fans showed us their support because their whistles will wake us up. Luka Modrić's return gave us more control in possession. We can ask a lot of him because he has been out for three months. He did well and will help us a lot in the future, like Sergio Ramos will do."
