Basel's goalkeeper Yann Sommer is man of the match, no doubt. What a performance, top class goalkeeping!

If Yann Sommer can consistently put in a performance like in this match Basel will be a hard team to beat. Shaqiri will also be key to beat Bayern in the 2nd leg. Best of luck to both teams.

Great match by Basel but it's gonna be a tough match for them in the Allianz Arena. Good luck!!

The Basel goalkeeper Sommer was alert in goal. He made some clever saves and Basel hit the post twice. Imagine what the scoreline would have looked like if the attempts went in the net. One thing I saw was that kick that Basel defender gave Olic by accident as he tried to clear the ball OUCH, it looked like a kickboxing kick that takes two years to learn.

I have found a neutral team in Basel that I seem to love. Congrats Basel, outstanding display all around. Now finish the job in Munich and you'll be the center of attention by knocking out the hosts of this years Champions League. Good Luck!!

Basel are a very good team comparing them to top European sides. They created a team mostly with locals and they are playing in top European competitions. Unlike other teams who spend (...) but they only seem to go backwards.

@Azandre69 If Basel can come from behind to nearly winning Man Utd in the first game and then winning them in their home ground, managed to get a draw against Benfica at their second attempt and getting a win against Bayern Munich then Basel are not rubbish. Basel are a very good fast, attacking team. People have underestimated this team. I can't underestimate Basel cuz I watched them play against Utd and they were good. Luck was with Man Utd that time and if Utd was not lucky at all in that Champions League group stage. They would have been at the bottom of the table.

Bayern face a great goalkeeper ... and Basel face the post .. good match .. waiting for next match

Funny how the German winter break can destroy a really good season. While Bayern dominated City, Napoli and Villareal in the group stage, they can't even handle Basel now.
