Every year Spanish teams do well in Europe and every year people claim that Spain only have two good teams. Isn't it about time, people open their eyes and realize that La Liga has more to it than Real Madrid and Barcelona. The only reason why they're dominant is that they are so much better than the other, but that doesn't make the other teams poor. Lyon is one of the best teams in France and were beaten at home and a couple of season back Athletic Bilbao thrashed Man Utd in two games. I think the reason why the Premier League is more competetive (barely as only 3 teams can win in England and 2 in Spain) is that the top teams aren't as strong as the top Spanish teams.

ta qi+nonen 13 years ago

well spoken, people often underestimate the Spanish league because the two at the top are so good, Atletico could beat every world class team on a good day

But we have to admit, that this season many of the good teams have been weakened due a shitload of players going elsewhere (Valencia, Malaga, Sevilla, etc). Only Atleti and La Real are still as strong as last season. La Liga clubs have too much debt and too little money and can't hold on to the talents they produce. There is ofcourse quality, but the money problem needs to change.

i really love griezmann...perfect player for Arsenal, i think. (sorry alex chamberlain but you suck).seferovic last season played for Novara, italy's serie b,and scored beautiful goals...but italian teams are too blind and incompetent to find out good players in their own leagues. go sociedad!

Unfuckinbelievable!!!!! Two nasty golazos!!!! It is sad, since it will just be a quick blurb on highlight reels. Imagine how much schlong would be slurped by the media if it had happened from some stupid player on MAnchester United or Chelsea or Arsenal or Barca or Madrid.... sad.

Why, don't you guys know the English League Premier?! :D

ta qi+nonen 13 years ago

apart from his spelling mistake he's right. EPL has been on the decline in the past years and Arsenal will drop out against Fener. However I think the Premier League is slowly getting better again with the likes of Mourinho and Pellegrini, City and Chelsea were seriously fucked up last season with their joke coaches Manicini and Benitez

ali 13 years ago

20 or 30 year ago europe are too strong better than ELP, ELP cant buy superior player from 1980 1990 2000 to 2006 like idane ginho ,, rest of world europe have many talents than english player in elp

Sociedad always entertaining but didn't quite expect them to do that well. Those goals are something else. Both absolute top drawer stuff. Got the tie pretty much wrapped up with those.

I still don't know why people think la liga is trash. In fact la liga teams are better than some epl teams. The EPL looks so good because of the speed they like to play and the open space and all the teams are at a similar level and not that big of a gap. This is why EPL eams love La liga players. Look how easy they adapt to England. Messi would also find it easier in the EPL.

isco 13 years ago

excactly la liga teams produce better players but they dont have the money BPL has so they sold their best players ex. cazorla monreal, mata, torres , michu soldado negredo navas kone Silva aguero falcao llorente javi martinez ETC

SO TRUE

Martin 13 years ago

They don't think it's trash, they think it's one-sided. Real Sociedad have shown they're a good team, but no one thinks they'll challenge Barcelona or Real Madrid. It's also not as exciting as the Premier League. 1st against 3rd last year was Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. In the game at Camp Nou, Atletico took the lead, were playing well and had a chance of winning, but then Barcelona just overran them, and Atletico couldn't respond. Compare that to England, Manchester United and Chelsea, the equivalent game was close, controversial and could very easily have gone the other way.

Jugol 13 years ago

Martin - It´s not that people think its one sided, its that you are made to believe it is by the marketing machine of the PL whos sole interest is to sell you that it is a competitive competition when in reality United have won 5 of the last 7 leagues and were just seconds away from making it 6 out of 7. Is this not one sided? Two seasons ago Man Utd thrashed Arsenal 8 - 2. Did people think it was one sided then? Every year people are made to believe that there are 5 or 6 teams in the running, when come February or March you are lucky if there is two that can win it. How can people be fooled so easily?
