Como host Inter on April 12 at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia in a game that could have a real impact on the Serie A title race.
Bookmakers clearly lean towards the visitors. Inter are priced at 2.30 for the win, while Como stand at 3.22 and the draw at 3.44. At the same time, expectations around goals are fairly balanced — over 2.5 is at 1.89, under 2.5 at 1.96, and both teams to score at 1.68.
But the bigger picture suggests this might not turn into an open game.
Inter went into the international break on a surprisingly poor run, going three matches without a win. Their rivals didn’t fully capitalize, but the gap at the top has noticeably closed. This would normally be the perfect moment to apply pressure on a shaky leader — instead, the break may have slowed that momentum.
Several Inter players were involved with their national teams, adding physical load, but at the same time, their exit from the Champions League has eased the overall schedule. That could allow them to reset and refocus for the final stretch. On paper, their remaining fixtures look manageable, making this game one of the key moments in their push for the title.
Como, however, were one of the hottest teams in the league before the break. They were on a five-game winning streak and playing with confidence, putting themselves within reach of a historic Champions League qualification.
Under Cesc Fàbregas, Como have shown ambition, but earlier meetings with Inter exposed the risks of that approach. Since returning to the top flight, they’ve lost all three encounters against Inter without scoring, including a heavy 4-0 defeat earlier this season.
That may have forced a tactical rethink.
In their Coppa Italia semi-final clash, Como approached the game much more cautiously. They kept possession but avoided unnecessary risks, resulting in a slow, low-chance match that ended goalless.
A similar pattern wouldn’t be surprising here.
With so much at stake for both sides — Inter chasing the title and Como fighting for a historic finish — neither team may be willing to take too many risks. A draw would not be the worst outcome for either.
All things considered, this doesn’t feel like a game that will explode in terms of goals.
Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals
