Judging by these comments there is still a lot of work to be done, @milanlamiavita, @Footy_Watch, @Pelle you should be ashamed of yourselves. You are the embodiment of why racism lives on in the world, talking about your own ideas about racism (hint: YOUR OPINIONS ABOUT RACISM DO NOT MATTER. NONE OF YOU ARE THE ARBITERS OF WHAT IS OR IS NOT RACIST), or where the teams come from and judging them on that instead of the fact that they are BOTH standing against the ref's decision to sully the match by hurling a racial slur at a coach. THAT is how we make progress, hold people accountable, show them that it's not simply "a word" or "a joke" but part of a vicious cycle that ruins lives. I love that both teams walked off. In the future, please leave your filth off FootyRoom.

@BigCity-and neither does your opinion on wether something is racist or not matter.
So, this incident is widely disputed at the moment in the romanian press and i must say people can't really see the problem. Thing is, this simple minded fellow is being lynched by the media and also politicians. And for what?! He described this guy as a "black person", the term "negru" is not a racist slur which holds negative conotations in the romanian language. It is true that the ore appropiate term would have been "de culoare" meaning person "of color" rather than calling him black. But this guy is not a genius, f he could be accused of something, it would be lack of politeness because of lacking vocabulary.
@mirkivicinic, come on, it is obvious that the fastest and clearest to describe him.

@Pronax - what colonial France, Germany and many other countries/nations did in the past is horrible. But you cannot blame current generations for those things, these people had nothing to do with that. On the other hand, Erdogan is slaughtering Kurds in our very days, so that's a little different...
I am acutally also feeling sorry for this guy, i am quite sure that he had no intention at all to be racist. This will probably be the end of his career, maybe he will also be ordered to pay a big fee because of the whole thing, ruining him financially...and for what? for being uneducated?! Maybe next time UEFA should school people beforehand on what shouldn't be said...
Found it odd that Erdogan condemned it, i was thinking, don't you have better things to do, like your little genocide?

Have you even asked why the 4th official pointed out the assistant coach? In the situation it wasn't racist to say black one when the staff are all light skinned so shut it with your oversensitivy. At best it was disrespectful

UEFA offered to replace the 4th official but Istanbul refused to play. should forfeit and PSG given a 3-0. Turkey is the home of racism, bigotry, inequality, genocide and ethnic cleansing. They should go back and protest there. Protest there vs real racism, support for terrorists and the bulldozing of 4000 Kurdish villages. They support isis, but I don't see their teams protesting. They put singers in jail but I don't see them protesting. Came all the way to Paris but refused to play because of the forth official. Sigh.
On the subject of racism in football. As per usual, they'll do sweet F all about it. They'll arrange for some banners, some pointless finger pointing and plans, but when it comes to it, nothing will happen.

The word "Negru" he used in Romanian is a racist word in the world's literature and there's no way he didn't know that. So it was racist.

When I type it in Google translator it comes up as negru. Its not racist to indirectly call a person by their skin colour. Its like saying the guy with green eyes, blonde guy, etc

I don’t know the exact meaning in romanian. But in spanish the color black is ”negro”... so how do they say black guy? Hombre negro?

I don’t know but to me it seems like the controversial word is the english version because of its american history... unless ofc the color black has its own word.

I came to your wall to solve an issue friendly. We all here write on eachother's walls. Sometimes just asking how we're doing. Walls are for connections. I think you might have some kind of paranoid schizophrenia as I see from your comments, not only to me but to everyone else also. You think all the people are going against you and want to humiliate you I suppose. So you insult everyone.

I think they wanted him to continue at VAR room but it is also not accepted by the players. Game seems to be off now. It won't continue. I've no idea how UEFA will decide. This is a tough one.

the " saint " in psg is not a french word or place. but " basaskehir " is a turkish district in instanbul and you are mocking them because they named it that and your narrow minded brain doesn't know how to pronounce the word so you go on to attack turkish people from that region and mock the pronunciation. thats like taking the piss out of an african for having a long name that is hard to pronounce. it is indirectly racist and rude.

If it wasn't for the sale of weapons and geo-politics, their teams would never be competing in europe. Those players are the definition of hypocrites. They are playing for a Turkish team. A country that essentially exists on the back of ethnic cleansing and murder. But we have to put up with them because they buy our weapons. Any other nation and they'd be under severe sanctions. But our governments are spineless money grabbers.
