Well. That was a great first half performance wise and actually finishing chances. But that handball, wow I don't really know what to think. De jong for me was MOTM alongside messi and semedo. De jong is just so good at handling pressure from the opposition. I wish i could say the same about rakitic tho. Smh. BUT THEN, THE 2ND HALF, what really happened. if we play like that against bayern, oh wow we are in for a humiliation. I guess it kinda does make sense that setien waited for a lonng time for a sub because that bench was entirely LA MASIA wih no experience in champions league whatsoever. It's only natural that I feel worried bout bayern. Also can u please stop playing from the back. The ball always goes to stegen, He's not supposed to be on the ball that much.

Do they have another option other than playing out of the back? Obviously long ball is out of the window with players like Suarez and Messi upfront. Bayern's pressing game is next level and makes playing from the back almost a guaranteed suicide but at least it's what you know and good at rather trying something you're not familiar with in a big game.

xumeey 6 years ago

Liverpool 0 1462

The only players with good Pace are Semedo but he will be up against Davies who's probably as fast if not faster and maybe Alba but he's 31. Barca's lack of pace is shocking really!

This barca has already reached its full capacity beating napoli. Vs bayern is the end of season for barça wether they play possesion footbal or counter or park the bus or whatever, they cant match bayern and that will be a blessing in disguise for barça to realize how shit they are by getting himiliated for the 3rd consecutive UCL season. Its just fact. This barça vs this bayern is like argentina vs croatia or france. Too much difference in quality

Liverpool 0 1462

I know it won't be easy but if I were you I'd still have some hope. It's one game knock out and anything can happen in one game. Who knows Messi might drop a world-class performance or Bayern might have an off game. You never know stranger things have happened in Football. You guys know this more than anyone but for the wrong reasons lol sorry about that.

Leonardito 6 years ago

LOL If you mean last season barca vs liverpool, honestly the only strange thing that happened was the win in camp nou, the rest was expected. Liverpool was a lot better.

But yeah ofcourse as fans we always hope for the best, but speaking on paper bayern vs barca should only be shown in porn sites and thats why everyones hyped up to watch it.

Great performance from the midfield and the MVP Semedo. Raketic's revival is a crazy story and thanks to Setien's intense training. I could bet anything if we played Napoli in the physical situation that we were under Valverde the team would've got slayed. Barca's performance was more important than the score. As for the next game if we show the same fighting spirit like today is enough for me. Bayern is Europe's best and most consistent team. Definitely the team to beat. Good luck to both teams. Just a suggestion to Messi, if I were you I would send lewandowski a golden ball since those scumbags decided not to give him one this season. I mean everything is being done virtually why not this stupid gala too. Fucking idiots! Sorry for the rage.

Since Juve and CR7 is out, i would like to see Bayern demolishing Barcelona and Messi.

Why? May your wishes backfire on your team in their subsequent seasons.

ArgjentD 6 years ago

@RationalCogitator bc i don't want to see Barça and Messi winning 😂. And my team (Juventus) will definitely have AGAIN some big problems in upcoming seasons.

Barcelona vs Bayern next. I can't wait to watch the Germain Machine vs the possession-based Catalans.

Napoli must go home with their heads up. They pushed very hard in the second half. It's obviously Barca knew what would Napoli gave after the break so they parked the bus. That strategy is very risky. But it would be a good test for Barcelona's defense before facing Bayern.

xumeey 6 years ago

Liverpool 0 1462

If I was Barca fan I would be extremely worried and pray to the football gods to save my team. Their pace and pressure are frightening. Barca on the hand are slow on the ball and need time to build up their attack. Their dependency on Messi to show up in every game is also worrying. All it takes is one bad game from Messi and they're out.

How in hell they assumed it was a handball after Messi scored the 2nd goal?!

xumeey 6 years ago

Liverpool 0 1462

There was a slight touch. The handball rule is one of the hardest rules to implement in the game and that's why they keep changing it every few seasons.

Newguy13 6 years ago

Barcelona, USA 0 185

VAR’s algorithm is designed by Madrid based engineer..

HaXXspetten 6 years ago

Sweden 0 883

Replays (from some angles at least) showed it ever so slightly glanced off his arm after he chested it. It's harsh and stupid, but it's what the current handball rules say in regards to attacking players' handballs in build-up to goals. There's a reason most people don't like the rule

SheenaTL 6 years ago

Barcelona, France 0 558

You see penalties in Juve-Lyon game yesterday that should not have been and VAR does nothing. And then it denied the goal from Messi for a maybe handball. No consistency at all but that's partially also about how poorly the handball rule was written.

Ironman3000 6 years ago

Manchester United, Spain 0 115

assumption only being made if its 50/50. there is a touch (thanks to VAR) and its pretty direct decision. whining about unfairness when it wasn't there is pretty pathetic. although there are so many times refs and VAR got it wrong, i really think these kind of sub par performances by the official kind of shame when many technologies has been brought to help them.

One game knock out rounds. Gonna be pretty wild I think. It definitely feels like the winner deserves to come from this side of the draw. Winner of Bayern vs. Barca will likely play Man City who themselves had to beat Real. Much harder path than on the other side of the draw, no disrespect to Atalanta, PSG, Leipzig or Atleti.
