Barca have set the bar so high in the league the last decade that people immediately talk about failure whenever they dont reach up to that. Generation ”Xavi-Iniesta-Messi” in Barca might just have been so good it simply is hard to constantly be on that level.

Truth is that barca will have a dip, sooner or later, like all clubs. The main questions are how deep and for how long... And thats where the board needs to work!

Extremely poor. De Jong and Arthur are good are keeping the ball. But no point of keeping the ball if no one executes runs and find each other in spaces. Things only got better when vidal came on bcos he was the only one driving into the box. But still everyone was playing for messi. It makes it so ez to defend if everyone passes to messi. gosh. The coach and players need to recognise that its a team effort.. gosh.. so painful to watch

If it was CR7 playing full 90 minutes and we lose 2-0 everybody would be on his ass calling him Penaldo lol bad days happen to the best of us even the goat of football himself the ballon d'or winner, Messi. Credits should be given to Valencia; not blaming Messi or any other star in Barca.

The third goal was so clean it shouldn't have been checked by VAR at all! The Ref was drunk AND high at the same time. EPL and LaLiga should start exchanging referees with other countries so everybody can enjoy those retards. Other than that, Barca is falling in the abyss with no signs of salvation. Barca never had defense and now we know they don't have attack either. CL elimination stage is gonna be like a horror movie for all Barca fans.Again...

Totally Correct call on the own goal but had it been a Messi or Ronaldo 'scoring' Valencia's first goal, I guarantee you they'd have been given the goal. Last week, Ronaldo's first goal took an even bigger deflection in the game vs Parma and yet still got credited with the strike.

Because the ball was heading to goal this was OG because the ball direction was a pass and not heading to the goal

You make a fair point but just because a shot might he heading towards the target doesn't mean the keeper won't / can't save it.

But that's the rule, if its heading towards goal and it deflects the shooter gets the goal, pretty simple stuff.

@milanlamiavita - I honestly don't know how 3 people agreed with you but your argument about how to decide an own goal is weak, you're inventing new rules there. lol. Whether the keeper could save the initial shot or not is absolutely irrelevant, not sure where you got that from??? If the shot was originally going on target, not an own goal. If the shot was originally going off target, it's an own goal. It's really THAT simple. Gomez's shot was clearly going off target, therefore own goal. Ronaldo's shot was clearly on target before the deflection, so no own goal.

As long there is la masia Barca will never become below average team. As Pelle said, they might have a dip but it won't take long. By next season I believe things will improve when Setien fixes all the damage done by Valverde and fully implement his system. That may require dropping many of the senior players though. But to become like Milan and manu? not a chance.

They have been working on that, bringing young talents, paying millions of Euros. But, with bad management, all would be lost, just like the current situation.

Too many touches inside the penalty box, needlessly passing to Messi every single time when he's double marked and not having a good game. Barca very slow, not enough creativity, no urgency defensively poor again. Valencia was the opposite of Barca and could've had more goals if it wasn't Ter Stegen, Coquelin and Kondogbia bossing everyone.

P.S. Vidal should have started. He seems the only one who wants to win.
And the ref was high as fuck.

Don't get so cocky. If you're a true Real Madrid fan and have been watching them for long, you should know that whenever Barca falters, Real Madrid bottles it too.

Barcelona fans get used to LOST and Messi's WALKING IN THE PARK.

They were very poor in the first half but got better in the second half. Setien has more work to find the right formula for his players. Especially the defenders. Pique and Umtiti looked like clowns. Keep giving open spaces and fouls for fun.

Well it's gonna take the entire season to get these players used to training again after the mess and damage Valverde has done with his lack of physical preparation. I don't get why many of Barca fans are expecting anything special this season. Also, their mentality has to change when playing away and these are the biggest challenges Setien would have to overcome before thinking of winning trophies. Ha people getting ahead of themselves and talking CL lol.
