great to see Neymar backing to his best form,
this match is a great opportunity for Tuchel to see what should be fixed in order to keep Neymar/Mbappé/Icardi/Di Maria in the starting 11 without beign too risky !
Also nice to see Monaco with a new energy with this new coach that still a beginner, also Gelson and BenYedder are really great players !

The kid will wake up one day with my message in his dream. You cannot get your early 20's back, Kylian. Don't waste your early 20's energy in a league you're way better than and join a league in your talent league such as Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A or Bundesliga. Or join them all and conquer them all by getting each league title on your resume. Your talent is being wasted right now and we all know you're in your comfort zone and you wana stay with your family in Paris, I get that; but look out for your career.
The amount of time it took for them to decide suggests they weren't 100% sure whether it was offside or not. Do the rules say any contact with the ball from the opposition cancels out the offside?
If it simply bounces off the player (a ricochet) it will be offside, but if the player actively goes for the ball like Marquinos did, then the offside is cancelled. Marquinoos clearly went for that ball so they had to allow the goal.
If it's just a ricochet then it's still offside, if it's a conscious attempt at playing the ball then it counts as a pass by an opponent and then it's not. So by the rulebook then it's correct and the goal should stand, as it did. That said, when you saw it on video it definitely seemed very lenient considering it was basically just an outstretched leg
Yes, it was 50-50 and even the VAR referees weren't sure but I'm glad Monoco got something out of the game since they played very well. Sorry PSG fans but you guys probably don't care much about the league anyway.
The priority is obviously on the UCL but that doesnt mean its ok to produce shitty performances in the league (like a few games this season). You still want your team to win.
Because the referees decided that Marquinhos' touch of the ball was a conscious move and not a ricochet, in which case it counts as a pass by an opponent instead and then it can't be offside. Understandable but definitely harsh under the circumstances
Ok after watching it I taught something's wrong with mine, but no the Var ref is heavy on that synthetic shit. The linesman although looks like a bit high too made the right decision.
Learn the rules first, if it bounces off a player then they will call offside, but if the player goes for the ball and mistimes his tackle you can't call offside. Marquinos clearly went for the ball.
You learn the rules first, not others. If the player benefitted from his offside position then it is offside and you can see the initial pass/shot came from his teammate. Even if a player blocks the goalie sight while being offside then it would be counted offside.
It's not offside if it's a conscious move for the ball that leads to the assist by a defender rather than it simply being a ricochet off them. That's not a new rule, you just rarely see it need to be used. For example remember the first goal for South Korea against Germany at the world cup? Same story there, he was in an offside position but Kroos had the last mis-aimed pass of the ball so it was allowed to stand anyway. This one was a bit more subjective whether Marquinhos' touch should be considered intentional or not but most likely you'd have to say it was and if so it should stand

But Marquinhos's touch didnt change the direction of the ball. If it went into the net, the goal wouldve gone to the monaco player because it was on target. For these reasons it shouldve bern an offside
@takeiteasy829 if an offensive player is standing offside and a defender passes to him by mistake, is the offensive player still not benefiting from being in an offside position? If you're wondering the answer is yes, and the player does benefit from being offside so your point is nonsensical. You clearly do not have an understanding of the offside rule.
