Whether you agree that this particular incident should be a penalty or not for Burnley, I definitely agree with Sean Dyche on this as a general point. This is the reason diving is a prevalent issue in football after all. If players stay on their feet, many refs somehow see that as meaning the tackle was less significant, and thus they feel the need to dive just for it to be given. We need more consistency in showing that it is the foul itself which is the focal point rather than the aftermath then the sport would be in a much better place
It's like when Son got a red card solely because of the injury he caused and not the challenge itself
