actually rules and convention is that referees/linesmen when working with VAR are meant to not stick their flag up until the play is done unless it is clear and obvious to avoid that exact confusion. referee was not clearly telling them to play on as the linesman is a referee and he was telling them to stop aha, clearly your view is biased :)
I like to see good refereeing and that, was definitely not good refereeing as it interfered with the players. the main referee even clearly put his whistle to his mouth like he was going to blow his whistle. I think you need to look at it again bud.
