It is honestly not healthy for premiere league football how VAR is being used in especially offside situations.

Before VAR, in very narrow cases, a milimeter here or there, advantage was given to the attacking team.

With VAR they even check for those milimeters, and this really is a blow to the entertainment value, and a step backward. It is nitpicking as hell. It also gives tons of free credit to the defensive dimension of football when we all know that the goals, and the offensive dimension appeal much more. This is also the reason why they used to avoid call offside in very narrow sitations prior to VAR.

I am personally dissapointed, and they have to review the usage of VAR during offsides.

Although Manchester City win the game but chelsea team played well with new young players besides the old players in the team ...... great job done by frank lampard and chelsea team but where loft check and ross parkley ...... lampard should find the best formation for the team

Lampard still not able to beat any of the top teams in EPL since he became Chelsea manager. He haven't even manage to get a single draw against one of the top teams which is so sad.

That last disallowed goal is a shame. They are erasing the fun of the game imo.

I'm sorry, I'm just going to give you my full honest opinion and I might receive alot of hate for this. If you don't like it then don't like it. But, emerson can't defend for shi t. Batshuayi is a donkey, and Abraham is overrated. Other wise, I'm proud of Chelsea I'm seeing an improvement. KTBFFH

Relax. It wasn't a terrible game for Chelsea. No one expected Chelsea to win City. It was a fight between a wounded lion and a cub. But it showed promises of what the cub will do when it becomes a lion. City will try as much as possible to make sure Liverpool doesn't have more than an 8 point lead after the first half of the season. Good game from both Teams. The Premier league is currently the most difficult competition.

Although there were some good sparks for Chelsea, I don't we should have played 4-3-3. I think 4-2-3-1 would have been more suitable and we have had more chances. Just because he has 3 good midfielders doesn't mean he has to field all of them. I think he should have benched Jorginho for this game and start with kovacic and Kante as our 2 CDMs in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Our team would have been much better attack, defense, and stability-wise.

i dont think it would give any different..yes tactical speaking 4231 would flood the mid area and might shift the midfield battle to chelsea favor, but chelsea would reduce the cutting counter attacking prowess in this 4231 system. We all can see, to beat mancity is to bypass the mid, as that is their strong line and their modus operandi of stealing ball. Instead going into the lion dens it is better bypass it. Unfortunately for chelsea, they dont have CB and fullbek with great long distance passing ability. the job is being done by Jorginho. And City knew very well, u stop jorge, u stop chelsea.

This is real football. Both teams are better than the team who keeps diving and look for penalties.

Not every team got oil resources. City with Arabs oil vs Chelsea Russian oil. Shut the F up with your real football shit. You know nothing about football then.

Once Jorginho came off, the difference was clear. Nobody played in front of the defense to start the attack. City are still the back-to-back champions let's not forget. Still, there were lots of positive signs there with some luck going our way. Fairly entertaining match as well.

Kepa needs to do better because, 7/8 times out of 10, Aguero would've punished that crazy mistake.

Man City is lucky. We have stopped attacking after 80th minutes to avoid draw which Liverpool will have the last laugh.

Chelsea played well for about 30 mins and City scored a goal then all of a sudden they were shit. Willian decision making is poor and very slow he should've been subbed off, Batshuayi was having a date with the offside line, Jorginho was good for 30 mins even he couldn't believe it then he made a huge error and all of the confidence went out of him. This Chelsea side is too naive and inexperienced.

offside is offside, whether its 1 milimeter or 1 meter. imagine psg losing big games because of milimeters offside goals is allowed, you wouldnt care about entertainment stuff

Poor... they could easily change the definition of the rule to let VAR be more consistent with the game. If the little finger is offside yet the entire body is in line, you happily call it offside, while stopping the game for minutes. I dont buy that, it is nitpicking as hell. This wasnt how they defined offside prior to VAR... be it PSG or any other team. So leave the favorite team bias argument out of this.

except you are wrong. they dont measure it by a part of the body that can't score so you could never be called offside for your little finger, it would be offside if your toe was offside.

My point is highlighting the exaggerated pettiness in its usage. The finger was just figuratively speaking.

Take into account that a freeze picture is taken rather arbitrarily. Is it when the ball has the first contact with the player who sent it? Is it the moment when it "leaves" his head or leg? That happens in a millisecond and depending on when do you decide to freeze it can affect those millimeters that caused him being offside. It is ridiculous.

Chelsea lost stamina. Lampard should have been careful not go all in so hard in the beginning. Many players just couldn’t keep in second half

Imagine subbing on Batshuayi when you have Giroud on the bench.. 4/4 offsides.. Chelsea were great in those first 30 minutes, just needed to keep playing fearlessly

True. He should've tweak the tactics with Giroud because he is superior on the air. Atleast Chelsea can make a cross especially with currently fragile man city defense.
