Liverpool was awesome, but I'm getting confused. What defines a handball these days?

Liverpool was collectively great! And today we saw probably Peps greatest flaw in his game. Unable to change strategy mid-game... his only sub was a change of similar player on the same spot.

When the ball hits an attacker's hand, its a foul even if its by accident. Therefore the ref shouldve called a foul in Liverpool's favour

allot of the credit needs to go to the Liverpool fans they where so intimidating, but city kept coming and could have easily scored...why was the 2nd handball not a PK!! normally defenders cross their hands behind their back @ 6:12 Trent realising this finally attempts to do so

handball rules:
1. the ball touches a player's hand/arm immediately from their own head/body/foot or the head/body/foot of another player.
2. the ball touches a player's hand/arm close to their body and has not made their silhouette unnaturally bigger
3. a player is falling and the ball touches their hand/arm when it is between their body and the ground
4. additionally, should the goalkeeper attempt to clear a ball from a teammate but fails, the goalkeeper is allowed to handle the ball.

first the ball touch bernardo's hand & then bounce to trent's arm (rule number 1). so it's not a pen.
second "handball" is not given because trent's arm close to his body (rule number 2). so we got a clear win :)

Fucking hell! That boy, Trent-Alexander has become a real handballer (something like De Ligt, this season, in Rubentus. And in the same way, there’s NEVER penalties against these two). And it all started 2 years ago, in the UCL semis against Roma, on the return game (after L’Pool won the 1st one 5-2, with ONE CLEAR OFFSIDE goal). If you remember, bnack then, Roma won the rematch 4-2 (so L’pool went in the finals, for 1 goal scored more), BUT, Roma WEREN’T given 2 PENALTIES (and Dzeko goal was disallowed fort NON EXISTING off msaide), out of which, the 2nd one was by Trent-Alexander, only 2 meters from the goal line, acting like a goalkeeper, pulling his arm up and stopping the ball from going inside the net!
Now again?! A coincidence?!

P.S. NOT just I'm NOT Man-C fan, I DESPISE THEM

You're still angry about that? I hope you realize that Liverpool had many decisions go against them as well like the Florenzi scissor kick on Mane which should've been a red card and the penalty on Klavan which was never a penalty.

If VAR was with Liverpool then why did it disallow a goal for Liverpool in the Villa game and help United draw with Liverpool? I'm mean you can't pick and choose which instances you like and ignore it when it doesn't suit your agenda. We were better than you and deserved the win take the L like a man and hope a W in the second leg.

As I recall there where three shouts:
TAA: that I believe was a penalty
Fabinho:, how way arm is too close to the body and natural position to protect his body
Sterling: There was a clear push, but this is the BPL not La Liga woosies.

Great performance Liverpool, showing how to be clinical. Man City did perform well, but where not clinical in front of goal.
Hand Ball decision: first one yes, second one no.

So its all about useless VAR! sometime one team get advantage from VAR but maybe next match that team will be harmed by VAR. like liverpool vs aston villa (Firmino Armpit) then now Liverpool vs ManC (TAA handsball)

If Man City was robbed by 2 penalties, how about Firminho legitimate goal against Aston Villa? Which part of his body is offside? His nose? His armpit? His shoelace?

Logical opinion: First TAA handball is correct to not be given a pen but Fabinho goal shouldn't have stood.

Reason: Bernardo's handball in the first place is a foul, therefore play should be stopped... or advantage. Advantage was given. But then the ball hit TAA arm, which is another foul, so the advantage is cancelled and play should be stopped in favor of Liverpool (from Bernardo's handball). Thus, Fabinho goal should not be counted.

I genuinely don't get why there wasn't a VAR check for the handball in the box prior to Fabinho's goal (screamer). I have seen goals disallowed with an attacker being less offside than Salah was prior to his goal (the passes were incredible in the buildup). Ederson saves at least the first and the third goals, maybe the second.

I'm salty af by the way - no need to get chirpy with me. Would just genuinely love to know why Salah's goal wasn't disallowed and why there wasn't at least a VAR check on the handball (which would have stopped the buildup to the first goal).
1
DevShakalaka 4 years ago
Borussia Dortmund 0 27
err there was a var check? and the decision was to allow the goal? the ball didn't go out so the ref can't stop the game as he pleases to check var. A review will be done once the game stops, in this case when fabinho scored. and why would they disallow salah's perfectly onside goal? cause you say so? Stick to american football ffs

"stick to american football" I bet you I know the rules of both footballs better than you. Salah's entire top of his body is beyond the defenders, as is his knee. I've seen goals disallowed this season with merely a shoulder or the tip of a foot beyond the defender - several of them from city.

@bigcity so pls refer to the pic above and enlighten us with your vast knowledge of football rules.. which part of salah was offside? his leg hair?

that's the only pic I've seen where the line depicts him onside - all the others seem to have the line across going over his knee and shoulders. idgaf about you stuck up fans who think you "own" football. I'm gonna keep calling it like I see it. @dev no controversy about Dortmund's L this weekend. @xumeey who's that other team in your profile pic? see you in april

@bigcity "see you in april" damn that's intimidating hahaha if you're truly calling it like you see it then there is no difference between you and a dysfunctional lamp post

@xumeey see Supermok's screenshot below that makes it seem like the ball doesn't hit TAA's arm. See what you want to see, blindman. See you at the Etihad with Laporte, Sane, Ederson back. Won't be starting Angelino that game.

@dev ... glad you shared your lamp post comment. Like I said, no controversy about Dortmund's massive L to Bayern, right after Kovac got sacked too. Simply outclassed. Such a shame too, I'm always pulling for Dortmund. Sucks to suck!

@BigCity you're hopeless, man. We have already beaten you with Laporte, Kompany, Sane, and Ederson on the pitch and last season you were saved by a couple of millimeters. Just accept the defeat and move on you're embarrassing yourself.

Wheres that guy who claimed itll be a 1-4 city win. Is he hiding in his hole? It was a good performance from Liverpool, absolutely tore them to pieces. Sure sure it wasn't Citys full lineup but props to City for never giving up. Sure we are 8 points ahead of Leicester but if last season isn't evidence, the league is far from over!! Come on you reds! YNWA!

Dude you need glasses, I'm a liverpool fan and saw the handball. I zoomed in on the box and its 1000000% hits the hand. To cap it off, he even said it hit his hand.
