No one is doubting that Madrid were fantastic up until the end of the 17-18 season. But since the start of last season it hasn't been the same team. That's not to say that they can't come back of course but looking exclusively at the 18-19 season then I don't think it's that unreasonable to say that Madrid and Chelsea were probably on similar levels. They both finished 3rd in their leagues, Madrid won the Club World Cup and got knocked out of the UCL in the Ro16 by Ajax whereas Chelsea won the Europa League and also only lost to City on penalties in the EFL Cup. They both had plenty of internal issues too but eventually weathered the storm. In a way they had similar seasons except people expect more from Madrid than Chelsea

I don't get Zidane. He shows a clear bias. Keeping Benzema (who isn't a quality striker but is a Frenchman) and wants to dump Bale (who is quality but isn't a Frenchman). BenZEMA is trash. Jovic will quickly fill the massive void that Benzema obviously poses. Unless Zidane keeps looking to place Benzema in the number 9 slot.

Yeah he clearly favorites french players.

Can you define "quality striker" because last season benz had 30 goals 9 assists in 49 games while bale had 14 goals 7 assists in 42 games.
I mean benz is not cr7 but using massive void and trash to describe him while calling bale quality seems a bit much to me.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have the same problem: Dressing rooms filled of ex-stars with too much power on the club. I think of a period of at least 3 years of non Spanish domination in the Champions League. Next year it could be Pool, Juve, City.

Never forget Bale did more than what Zidane did for Real Madrid. If he wants to leave he should leave with respect. Zidane most not pushing him, Zidane did the same thing with James Rodreguez.

Its a great opportunity that Real Madrid sign Neymar, because they have money and they need him to changing the team. BENZEMA OUT OUT OUT OUT.
Bale and James and Ceballous should stay in Real Madrid.

People keep saying Real was bad, Real was the better team in the first half when they played their 1st team. Benz should have scored 2 goals. Then after 45 they switched out their whole 11 with new signings and young inexperienced players

RM in 1st half were better only in attack. They were miserable in defense. I believe the old guards of RM defense and Mid-field have serious work to do.

This starting team is basically real madrid minus ronaldo plus hazard. Meanwhile they sell upcoming stars and bench almost every new signing. No way they beat barca to the title reusing last years team.

Don't forget plus courtois. Ronaldo never played with courtois

And Zidane said Hazard needed a club like Real Madrid to take his game to the next level. LMFAO It would have been true a couples of years ago but unfortunately they are on a steady decline and buying poorly and desperately ! Hazard is not going to achieve much with this Real Madrid side.

Madrid didn't need wingers more than they needed a proper Striker, these missed chances reminds me of lord morata

Iker89 7 years ago

Real Madrid 0 813

thanks for buying that Lord.. and yes Madrid needed wingers, as well as a striker lets wait for Jovic how he will do, as well as Benzema who was very good last year

SarriBall 7 years ago

Chelsea, Italy 8 218

Even at the worst moment for Chelsea I can say easily that Hazard left to an inferior team (Maybe he wants a new challenge) this is a jinxed team with no chemistry whatsoever. As Courtois.

Did you really just compare to the club world cup to the Europa? No one gives a rat's ass about the club world cup, it's like an honorary tournament where you play 7 games against random ass teams..

Europa has had very solid squads throughout the years..it's a far superior trophy

Another thing is important, Bale / Lunin / Mariano did not play.
Match:
And what did Zidane want from the young without the center of the field? Stupidly released 5 wingers.
It's like Zidane stoked Ceballos last year, releasing him like a winger.
And the first half proved that Hazard did not drag one.

Oh, and Benzema bottom!

Zidane: “Bale did not play because he is very close to an exit. We hope he can leave soon, it is even possible tomorrow. We are working to finalize his move to a new team.”
