That refereeing was scandalous. Setting aside the question of what the final scoreline should have been (Uruguay did hit 2 crossbars), that was an extremely soft penalty, and the dismissal of even considering VAR for what was a much clearer foul on a Japanese player on the penalty line was unjustifiable. Good on Japan for pressing on and showing what their young players are made of!

VAR is a joke. Another team cheated. The Uruguay penalty was no penalty. And the Japanese player was intentionally tripped inside the box -- and not even a look from the ref. This was so pathetic and blatant it borders on racism.

Typical South American tournament. Then they wonder why people don't this competition as serious as EURO. This is 21st century, stop cheating! We can see everything and we fans who pay your wages, morons!

I admit that I hadn't watched literally ALL the games on this year's Copa, but I did watch more than half (to say the least), and by my judgment, this was THE BEST match so far!
SHAME on the referee for giving such a penalty for Uruguay! If there was a foul there, it was made by Cavani! An offensive one!
Anyways, aside that crap with the low-life ref, I believe draw is the most realistic outcome of this match!
