Messi gave a slight shove with his shoulder to medels back wich is a clear yellow to me and dangerous when sprinting towards the adboards and makes medels over-reaction understandable. Red cards for this was BS imo and yellow for both would have been enough.

Messi always had a reason to show the world that the failure is not because of him ,

He resigns
He criticize pitch ,
he criticize opponent ,
he criticize his own team/team mates
He criticize referee
He criticize federation ,

and everybody knows he was not at all deserved 2014 world cup golden ball ,..

what a hypocrite he is

That was... strange to say the least. I don't think this was a red card worthy situation, although these were definitely two strong yellows, the referee should have done a bit better. That being said, Messi was not blameless at all here, I think Medel was more annoyed at the little foot swipe he took from behind while they were both going out, maybe Messi remember's Medel's hardcore (and much more red-worthy) foul from a few years back? In any case, it should have been a strong yellow for both.

Men's football is so pathetic. The way the players simulated and kept surrounding the referee, getting in his face and pushing him around after every decision from the very beginning of the game is the only reason he gave two red cards. I hope the man was well-paid, because it must have taken all his patience not to go home and leave both teams standing there with their d.... in their hands.

Messi "throws the stone and hides the hand" and these fanboys blame Medel? Medel is no saint but sending both off was the right call, stop crying

I've been watching football for 20+ years and never see that kind of situation lead to straight red. Yellow card is enough.

You're just a hater. Medel kicked Messi in stomach intentionally few years ago and only got yellow card. Tell me if it's a correct decision.

One would think 20+ years would give you enough experience to come up with an objective opinion, guess not. Whatever you wanna call it, it was an aggression . And your excuse is that Medel kicked Messi few years ago? :D:D:D Of course he should've been red carded if he wasn't, he's dirty af and I'm not defending him, I'm just blaming them both

Nah, I don't think sending them both off was the right call, it clearly didn't bring down the temperature for the rest of the game so it was pointless.
@Limbubu really man? 20+ years and you've never seen a more ridiculous straight red? I can think of at least 2 or 3 more unbelievable reds in the last 5 years alone (no I'm not saying it should have been a red, but it's definitely not the craziest referee mistake I've seen) Good memory on the Medel kick though, completely forgot about it, I wonder if Messi remembered and that's what led to this

Last time, the ref didn't use VAR. Now it's red card. This Copa America really has bad referees.

The refs in multiple game were beyond scandalous. I thought I was watching South East Asian football, the level of corruption.

The first one was when he made his debut for Argentina. He got sent off 45 seconds after he came on. This is the second one (and probably the most retarded one).

I agree with u about the rebuilding part. But you need to fix that defence. Ottamendi and tagliafico are pretty good but that right side needs to be fixed. You can't have foyth making stupid mistakes at the back. But If they keep rebuilding like this, they will be strong contenders for next years copa america. Also, we all knew Messi and Dybala could play together, it was pretty obvious.

Where the F*** brazil got these referees.
This tournament had referees sh*ttier than 2002 WC.
Too many wrong decisions and 0 usage of VAR.

How that was a red for Messi I will never know. That was probably a yellow to both players at best. Medel was being an absolute mong trying to go against Messi. And seriously, who said Dybala can't play with Messi. He was doing great when Messi was on and even scored a sick goal. I dont even know what to think of this Argentina team to be honest. The left side of the defence (ottamendi and tagliafico) are good. But u gotta replace the right side ASAP. Foyth was literally trying to give the ball to chile. Argentina could have had around 4 here.

FR has a tendency to vote MoTM for whoever is likely to show up in the headlines after the game, so this isn't surprising at all
