As much as you can say that the new handball rule is less ambiguous, I think it's hard to find a clearer example of when it just seems too harsh than that Germany penalty. I mean yes, according to the new rules I guess that is technically a penalty, but really that felt absolutely silly to see given subjectivelty

In any case, another great game by the Netherlands, especially in the second half. Will be really interesting to see them at the Euros

I wonder if Wijnaldum reserves his best performances for the most important games. Sometimes he is just invisible, sometimes he is the second moving thing you watch the most after the ball.

Low is so stubborn, he kept starting Neuer which i think is bang average. On current form, Ter Stegen is a much better goalie and deserve to start.

Van Dijk and De Ligt is arguably the strongest CB pairing in the world right now. I could see Netherlands going far at the Euros, probably even winning it.

If only they were born in the same time as Van Persie and Robben. 2010 could be theirs. Depay and Babel aren't the same quality as them.

True, but remember with a star studded attack sometimes team play gets compromised... This NL team looks like a team. Remeber, the players that were on fire and won it for Germany were Khedira, Kroos, Shcwieny, Lahm, Ozil, Boateng, Neuer... Spain won atleast one of their trophies with no striker in the starting lineup... It's ussualy the teams with the strongest CB's that somehow magically become really fluid and attack well, dominant strikers/wingers aren't so good to depend on in the international money time...

Just maybe its time for Low to resign. Germany has been going downward since 2014.

he is so underrated..but greatest of manager like klopp and pep did see his quality..if in liverpool, bobby firmino is the engine, then wijnaldum is the diesel of the team

Aside from that stupid new handball rule that is extremely unfair to defenders, the penalty should never have been given since Schulz was offside. Netherlands deserved to win and it's good that they did.

No, Schulz wasnt offside. The video-ref checked. It was close. But even as a German fan: I don't want a penalty like this. It's ridiculous.

If Jurgen Klopp leave Liverpool in 3 years, he should take Germany to World Cup 2022

I don't think there would be enough time for him to sort out the squad. But he would definitely win every major tournament.

Worst game I've seen from Germany since the world cup. Absolutely shocking. No inspiration and so slow in transition. Schulz played absolutely terribly, Gundogan played the worst I'd seen from him, Havertz is not a winger, Werner was virtually invisible and while Kroos looked more of his older brighter self, he still pulled the game to a stop every time he had the ball. I don't like the back five and the style of play has no sense of urgency. Well deserved win for the dutch, the final score should've been 1-4.
