Football is not a matter of the best players or the best teams, this right here is a spectacle, passion, thrill, suspense and entertainment. This is a world class football match in all of those factors.

Great great game....now I know the intense and feeling about this derby. Unfortunately they played it far far away from their home country. Congratulations for River, and thank you Boca for the fighting spirit. Better luck next time

BOCA coach was stubborn by subbing their best attacker Benedito so early, and not bringing TEVEZ EARLY. GAGO used to be good, but injury prone.

I wanted boca to win, but more than anything i didnt want the match to end. What a spectacle of heartfelt, passionate football.

Such a shame they didn't swap sides in the second half of extra time. River deserved to celebrate that winner in front of their fans. Ruined the ending for me.

Oh sandrito, your mom would be proud of you. An italian babboon shouting and screaming trying to get attention whilst also talking absolute nonsense. Oh and I know that Italy is the only thing that matters for you little waxed and cologne overdosed men but guess what serie B is only interesting to serie B fans mostly so no point in saying "We" ...

I'll admit that I rarely follow south american club football, but goodness a Copa Libertadores final is a hell of a lot more hype than 95% of the games going in Europe during a season at least, don't be ridiculous

No it's not regardless. There was a 4-4 draw in Spain today and 3-3 draw in Italy and you think a common scorline of 3-1 is more entertaining???

So is every game less than 3-3 a boring match?

No but if you compare a 3-3 to a 3-1 the 3-3 will win much comfortably

Are you implying 3-3s and 4-4s are in some way the norm in any league in the world? Nice job cherry picking examples lol

Right , he was the main man for boca, the sub didn't do anything, plus late sub for perez too, bad decision by stubborn boca coach.

Crazy. Boca almost scored with 9 men to make it 2-2, that shot that went off the post. And before that almost an OG when the defender headed it from close and luckily River's keeper was right there. How will this work now back in Argentina? Will Boca players be shamed forever? Would any players be in danger?

how many dozens, if not hundreds, of fans will be arrested in Spain and Argentina from both sets of fans?

If I were a Boca fan, I really wouldn't take it out on the players -- it looked, to me, like they really did everything they could. That being said there are always a few nutcases..

What a game!!!!! MOTM is Quintero, River 1st half had all the possession, 0 threat, he came and changed the game. Literally one of the best players I have ever seen that plays for a lesser team, why no one wanted/wants him, I will never know.

When I say lesser, I mean not one of the best sides in the world, but hey, I hope they do well in the club World Cup. They are the best team in SA, no one can argue this, fully deserved win. I think the only other threats are Real Madrid and Kashima Antlers, That team is really good.

Let him off! His fountain of football is the paid TV he sits on his ass watching! Usually the premier league he wanks off to! Most likely sees Southampton as a bigger club than river as well! The paid TV generation are the cancer of football

@Gonzi when I said lesser I didn’t mean River Plate were shit, they deserved this win. I meant more the case of why were some shit players over 50 million hyped for no reason, whereas players like Quintero only worth 5 million. His talent was clear since 2014, yet I haven’t seen any talk on him. I wasn’t trying to throw shit about River Plate, just wondering why these talents go rather unknown.

yea i get what you're saying. And to answer your thoughts, not all players want to go to europe. european football fans have to stop that thought process. look at players who leave, watch them cry at the end of their time in south america, balling their eyes out. look at tevez, he cries for boca. do you think he cries for juve, man u or man city? no. they go for the money. and then they return. if they got paid the same, they would never leave their home and family.

Any player who has been at a particular club for a good length of time will show gratitude towards that club, if their time there was successful. This being no matter who they played for, in which country and or continent. Of course, no one wants to move away from their home country. But ultimately, quality of football as well as level of pay in Europe is 9.99 times out of 10 is better than in South America. It's normal that they then move to Europe to see if they can take that next step up. But sometimes, no matter how good you are, change of scenery, country and club just doesn't work. Talent is only one factor. So many other things come into it like the team, the city, how homesick a player can become etc etc. Factors that usually fans don't see to appreciate.
