It’s almost like the team move and play better without Kane. Also, Huddersfield are absolute terrier shite, but still, super impressive. LUCASSSSSS HATTRICK, now in double digits in the Prem. Bring on the double Etihad adventure next week!!!!! If spurs start off next season like this, especially now in new stadium, watch out.

Wouldn't be the first time we've seen a team actually play better without their so-called "star" player. When you don't have to rely so much on one person to carry your game then it's easier for the other players to play more as a team

Even though it was against Huddersfield Town. This form is needed for Spurs to keep their form and positive mentality. GG

Hey admins! Your matchat & veuclips highlight links are barely working these days, it keeps on restarting the video after a few seconds even when the Adblocker is off. Any solution to this would be great, thanks!

Our team without Kane can be a good and a bad thing. The bad thing is that we got no good strikers to bang in goals for us. The good thing is that we actually play more like a team. I’m ready for back to back Etihad!!!

Every player who plays in the top flight is a 'good player'. But he isn't a very good player. A free loader who achieved nothing at PSG and hasn't done anything at Spurs to suggest he's disproving anyone wrong when tagged as a mediocre player.

Lucas is good at running at defenders, but he doesnt produce the quality like today, enough to be considered a good player.

Lucas Moura, a RB turned winger, scored 37 goals, made 35 assists, and won 16 trophies at PSG over 5 years.

But stupid people think he was a freeloader.

That's 34 league goals in over 150 games. That's an average of 0.22 goals per game. Moura was never a regular at PSG. He was never a protagonist. If he was, he wouldn't have gone from PSG to Spurs. Kevin Trapp who stayed at PSG for 3 seasons won 10 trophies.

Poor comment. Lucas is a very talented footballer. I doubt you watch all his games intently so you are judging purely off highlights or the odd game you've seen here and there.

No one questioned his apparent talent. Talent alone though doesn't make a great player. He blows hot and cold, is inconsistent and to date, you cannot tell me he has matched the hype that surrounded him when PSG signed him. Let's be very honest here. Had he been a top top player, PSG would've never washed their hands off him.

I fully agree he can be inconsistent, however your initial comment implied he was a dreadful player. He's produced some excellent performances for us this season against a variety of teams and has had far more good games than he has had bad ones. Just because PSG sold him doesnt mean he cant be a top player. Many big clubs have sold players they deemed not good enough only for them to flourish. It may or may not happen for Lucas I cant predict the future but you cant only judge the quality of a player based on if a big club sold them or not.

Interesting that you say he's had more good performances than bad. His 10 goals in the league have come over 7 games. In a further 1 game, he provided 1 assist. So that means that in 20 games, he neither scored or assisted. He was also not brought off the bench on 4 occasions. How that equates to 'had far more good games than he has had bad ones'. I'll never know. No, he isn't dreadful. He is OK. An OK player. Top clubs don't wash hands on top players. They either keep them or sell them for way over the odds, if the player wants to leave. If Moura was a top player, he'd have gone to a better team than PSG. He didn't. He took a step down.

This brings me right back to the point I brought up in the first place. You haven't even watched him play. You're going off stats and highlights. Are goal stats the only way to judge a players worth and influence? His work rate has been top notch as well as his movement off the ball to drag defences around creating space for others. His pace and intensity has really helped to drive the team to big results (Man Utd and Barca away are 2 standout examples of this). I guess its hard to appreciate that sort of thing in a 5 minute highlight video. I'd have no right telling you which players were good or not at Milan based purely off stats and highlights because I don't watch them enough. You've made snap judgement on a player based on very little knowledge of him.

"That's 34 league goals in over 150 games."

Plus the 35 assists, and you've forgotten that these are the stats of a RB turned winger. That's pretty damn good, actually. It's also 4 more goals than Marcelo has scored in his entire career.

"Moura was never a regular at PSG"

Yes he was. From 2013 to 2017 his appearances per season were 53, 46, 56, 53, and he never played fewer than 29 league games, increasing his goal tally EVERY single year. He was the mainstay of PSG's right wing as they won 16 titles. You don't know what you're talking about.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucas_Moura#Career_statistics

"If he was, he wouldn't have gone from PSG to Spurs."

That's what happens when PSG spend 450 million pounds on Neymar and Mbappe. We got him at a bargain, and I'm very glad we did. Bye.

Yes he was. From 2013-2017 the LOWEST number of league appearances in a season he made was 29. He was the mainstay of PSG's right wing as they won 16 titles. You don't know what you're talking about.

@DChoff that whole narrative of 'PSG wouldn't let him go if he was a top player' is absolute nonsense. They let him go because they bought Mbappe, and Lucas wanted game-time. If Lucas were less of a professional, he'd have stayed at PSG for a pay-check.

The numbers you've listed are of overall appearances. Please have a look at how many of them were actual starts.
Yes that is exactly what I'm saying precisely. Neymar and Mbappe were bought to upgrade. Surely if he was any good, they would've have gone for the upgrade.

Now you're just being silly. No-one is comparing him to Mbappe and Neymar. They are clearly both better than him. Anybody with a brain can see that. I strongly disagreed with the implication of your in initial statement that Lucas was a bad player. He is not at the levels of Mbappe and Neymar but how many players are? Lucas is in my opinion (as a spurs season ticket holder) an extremely gifted winger that most top European teams would love to have at their disposal as his influence on games in all aspects is extremely positive. Happy to debate players when people make valid points but there is no validity to anything you've brought up. As I've said throughout, your judgements come merely from 5 minute highlights and basic goal stats. Simple as that.

"The numbers you've listed are of overall appearances. Please have a look at how many of them were actual starts."

Okay, in that case it's 23 (+23), 27 (+10), 29 (+16) and 35 (+7), and that's JUST the league and CL. Do you think this helps or hinders your point?

"Neymar and Mbappe were bought to upgrade. Surely if he was any good, they would've have gone for the upgrade."

I think you'll find that not being quite as good as Neymar or Mbappe is true for every single forward in the world except Messi and Ronaldo. When PSG spend 450m to get 2 players, someone will have to make room. Lucas was it. I'm happy to pick up a player of his quality, especially since he was such an important part of PSG winning 16 trophies.

with all do respect we are talking about Huddersfield a team that has won only 3 games this season and has a goal difference of -50
respect for lucas his goals were great demonstration of his skills
but again its Huddersfield at a point of time where nothing they will do will change the fact they will be dropped to championship

yes, it almost seems as though a lot of top quality players in this team has to adjust to Kane's style of play, which is limiting their full potential as a club and, frankly, predictable. Kane's absence is a blessing in disguise.

i did so why exactly are you judging how the team moves and plays against them ...
i might be an arsenal fan ,, but if there is a player on totenham i wouldn't be hesitant to take its harry kane ..
he is much more than just a striker , he is not even at his peak and just look at what he has done so far ..
and he is not that slow either ... i like lucas an effective player when he is brought in as replacement at minute 70-80 when most players cant keep up with his speed and quickness , but if you think this will work or even resemble the same against a semi motivated team in the premiere league you are dead wrong
fact is kane scored 105 goals in the last 4 seasons on premiere league alone
shame for his injuries oh well
