Mancini has always belived in the talent of Balotelli and been some kind of father figure to him.

Donnarumma saved a fahad al mulled shoot or it should be 2-2. i am as Saudi very happy to see Saudi Possession the ball almost %50 front of Italy it's a huge improvement. So excited to see out national team in the opening match vs Russia

That's it , Simple , you call Super Mario , he scores, why did the previous Italian coach didn't get that. Still one of the best goal scorer ITALY has got is Balo.

Im not going to judge based on one game. Their goal came from a diabolical mistake from Zappacosta otherwise Italy were in total control. Italy still however are sloppy in the final third. Their passing has to be much sharper. But this was never going to be a quick fix. Lets see how they get on over the course of the next year. We can begin to judge a bit more once Mancini has had some time.

Should've also equalised if not for a Donnarumma save. All in all, we're in purgatory of International football

Sure however Criscito and Pellegrini missed sitters. The game shouldve been out of sight. We are definitely in a bad patch but all we can do now im afraid is hope Mancini gets it right.

It is Mancini's first game and i am sure he will get it right, and to be honest..Ventura is the worst manager that have coached Italy National Team..how can you exclude Balo, Pellegrini, Lorenzo Insigne, Jorginho..and belotti !

But my national team Saudi is weak tactically and also 0 confidence lol...but because the style of italy not to attack immensely, saudi arabia felt they can hold the ball more..anyways i have a feeling if it was mancini and this italy squad..italy would have made it to the WC2018..and it is really sad not to see Italy in the WC..All the best Ciao :)

Schifosi. If it wasn't for Donnarumma, it would've been a draw.
