Iceland Population: 330k, considering only half are men, only like 5% of those men are in the right age and fitness to even try to play football. Thats a very small pool to pick a football team out of.
Yet Iceland 2-1 England

They care enough to splash lots of cash in bringing in talent. The potential is there...

I never doubted his abilities but he is responsible for his current form. He never had the mentality to become legend. If he took risk and moved to some other team where he never have to be in someone shadow.. anyways it’s his choice to like what state he is in right now.

It's fair to compare them since they're both dynamic at the wing and centre forward but I gotta say Bale is way stronger than Salah so Bale can hold the ball way longer than Salah and that alone makes him better than Salah. Strength with speed is a big advantage; Salah only has speed and a little of strength but he's not stronger than Bale.

Your logic actually make more talents visible to scout than in billion population country. Probably this small actually helping scouts to look at every player to pick best and it is not possible with huge population.. large pool difficulty to spot talent and smaller pool makes easier to spot talent z

Although its a good point it also depends on how many talented players there are "per capita"... Bigger pool more talented players. However I also think it is heavily dependent on the football-culture if a country is to produce many talents. And its the same with most sports, Canada has a deep rooted culture for ice-hockey, USA for baseball-"am. football"-basketball... Pakistan cricket... Norway cross country skiing, Japan sumowrestling, China table tennis ... To give some of the most obvious examples
