Heartbreaking night for us, started so well but ultimately we dont deserve to going anywhere near the world cup with the stone age style of football we play, guts and heart will only get you so far and Eriksen was glorious in punishing our mistakes and Martin O neills ludicrous half time substitutions.
Best of luck to Denamark and everyone else who made the finals, we might get back there some day

Well deserved, the best footballing side went through - The Irish might have great fans, but who the hell wants to see them park the green bus during World Cup matches. You dont deserve to get to the worldcup when defending with 11 man!

Why? Defending is a part of the game. This is a sport, not the entertainment industry. Portugal won the Euros playing like that.

Sports is indeed entertainment - this industry would never exist if not for the entertainment value in following your favorite team. I can respect good defending, but I have a hard time respecting defending with no intention of giving the fans value for their money by contributing offensively to the game.

Also, Ireland didn't even defend well...

Yeah, let's hope they qualify for next world cup. Northern Ireland were robbed by that referee penalty decision against Switzerland. Their defense was excellent.
