Banega is such a class player!

Diego won the WC by himself but he had a very solid teammates as individuals and a great team altogether. Messi is doomed to play with mediocre players with mediocre mentality, save for Aguero, Banega and Dybala, on his quest to the football Everest. On top of that, Argentina can't find a coach of the proper caliber to lead the way. Every time I see that loser Higuain in the team, who is nothing but a huge liability, I feel sorry for Argentina. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Argentina this summer, for the sake of Messi.

Sabiol 9 years ago

i totally agree about the higuain's issue, but banega is another liability...

Golazo111 9 years ago

mediocre players? Messi still didn't score a goal after the group stage at the World Cup and he has played in so many, he's is the mediocre one.

"Messi is the mediocre one in argentina". Too much football IQ golazo.

diehardbarca 9 years ago

Barcelona 0 1821

@Leonardito That is called jealousy of Messi. Golazo is a cok sucker of Ronaldo so it is no brainer to write comments against Messi and Barca and pro in RM page.

Golazo111 9 years ago

Chelsea, Mexico 70 2607

I'm just owning anyone that trashtalks one of the best national teams in the world, only 11 year old kids say that Messi plays with mediocre players but he never scored a goal after the group stage...kids blame someone else always.

Sabiol 9 years ago

Argentina 0 646

@Golazo111 Is not all about goals. messi in argentina has to do others things. But is useless to explain that to someone who never watched a game of argentina and support a foreign team...

Golazo111 9 years ago

Chelsea, Mexico 70 2607

I hope Messi wins the World Cup but I'm tired of the kid Messi fans that always trashtalk everyone and make it look like Messi plays solo.

diehardbarca 9 years ago

Barcelona 0 1821

Golazo111 You can like whoever you want . But don’t ignore the fact that Messi has to drop in midfield to create goals and score goals that’s a lot for a player to don in every single game. Argentina doesn’t have mediocre players but their performances are mediocre this is what many fans compain about Argentina. Team chemistry more important in international games and this team did not gel up yet even after losing 4 finals. Every football fan (except aregintine and barca) and media want him to fail at World Cup.

MrShore 9 years ago

Golazo111 | I watched the WC in Mexico 1986 live! Anyone who wasn't born yesterday and actually witnessed those games back then will tell you that, compared to the '86 team, the current one is a bunch of handicaps. Messi is beyond human but no one can win a World Cup alone!

Argentina must be looking for a riquelme type player. Their attack is too good, basically they got excellent finishers. Leave the attack and just concentrate on finding the right player/s for midfield. Playmakers. I miss riquelme

TheLamb 9 years ago

lol buffon absolutely NOT accustom to balls sneaking through Bonucci's legs... he should anticipate and dive for that wtf

EvaNottyFan 9 years ago

Liverpool 0 18

Why Buffon is being so selfish? He should had let new generation take over. Can you imagine what's going with the Italians who inspired to play as a goalkeeper, when Buffon is still there at age 40?

Play so well but cannot get in the national team.

Argentina need goal scorer and this area has been poor since 2014. I don’t say Higuan is bad but I don’t expect anything from him except for few physical battles with defenders. If sampoali find goal scorer then they have a good shot at World Cup but for now they are ready. Today spain and Germany played great game and showed their class to all teams. There are 3 teams who have fair of winning world cup are spain, Germany, and Brazil and

Italian always play at old ages since ... well look at some example, Maldini is 39 and Nesta 32 years old when they win UCL in 2007, and Barzagli 36 already and still playing for Juve, Cannavaro is 33 when he won world cup in 2006, Zanetti not italian but have italian origins and play at italy for long time and win UCL 2010 at age 37, he put messi in his pocket, buffon is 40 and hes GK, he still had like 2-3 years .

If people think this was a good play by Argentina, then I have no words. Defense was all over the place, Higuain is not different from a tree. Finally, why the fuck Icardi is not getting called for national team?

_Gonzi_ 9 years ago Edited

Juventus, Argentina 2 2102

i don't think we watched the same game, you sound idiotic. or you might be a hater. defense was solid, other than caballero's one mistake. higuain was frustrated, yes, but he still managed to assist. and midfield was solid with lo celso and lanzini. icardi?? are you serious, now i know you're trippin if your asking for icardi lol.

all this without messi.

I have supported argentina for the last 2 world cups (2010, 2014), I watched the game(whole 90 mins), Caballero was really good, i am talking about left and right back. Italy is not good, if you are defending against their poor attack like this, then teams with better attack is just gonna go through argentina's defense.

_Gonzi_ 9 years ago Edited

Juventus, Argentina 2 2102

left back tagliafico was great, he's fast, he just didn't receive the ball that much because of lack of chemistry. this is his second game. he made a single error the very first second of the game and didn't look bad at all. he made runs into the final third but he was overlapping with di maria, he'll get accustomed to the style of play with more game time. bustos also, if you could explain what he did wrong, i didn't see anything? the biggest error out of left flank was paredes' awful clearance.

I mean if you want to win world cup you can not afford making mistakes, yeah parades was bad. Just tell me why would you take higuain over icardi? what has Higuain done for Argentina for last 5 years?

guliyevm 9 years ago

Barcelona, Canada 0 113

I want to be objective here, people might think I am a hater. I just want Messi to win an international trophy. He just can not carry team all by himself. Let's think what could have happened today if Argentina were playing Brazil instead of Italy?

_Gonzi_ 9 years ago

Juventus, Argentina 2 2102

i agree with you. honestly higuain looked lacklustre, slow and frustrated. maybe it wasn't his day, maybe argentina need someone explosive like lautaro. a neymarless brazil and messiless argentina would be a great game. let's be real though, icardi won't be the difference when it comes to winning the WC. Higuain might be though, he is a staple of the team, he is a senior player. watch some lautaro martinez games and you will stop wanting icardi on the team.

guliyevm 9 years ago

Barcelona, Canada 0 113

You just cannot compare European leagues with Argentinian league (no offense). Benedetto scored 21 goals last year and 8 goals this season. I watched his game in Argentina and guess what? He was utter shit

_Gonzi_ 9 years ago

Juventus, Argentina 2 2102

you can't compare them, i'll give you that i guess, but i get the impression you've never watched a superclassico. but where do you think european teams get their talent? why is inter/borrusia battling it out to buy lautaro for 33 - 40 million euros? the players from argentina soil that are on the NT are the best the superliga has to offer.

course he can. i'd take out di maria, put lanzini on the left instead.

Di mario is solid, but sometime runs a lot like a headless chiken instead of passing the ball.

Dybala got his chances to prove, Icardi got less time. Both couldn't take their chances . Argentina has a lot of attacking players. Competition is there.
