Horror decision on that disallowed cagliari goal. 00:55. As shot is taken, Bastos' foot is keeping the cagliari player on side.

Immobile one of the most inform strikers in Europe right now yet Ventura still hasnt got a clue what to do with him or how to get the best out of him.

Nor could Klopp, when he was at B. Dortmund. Even Insigne is crap for the national team. So is Verratti. Easy to blame Ventura.

But if anything that proves my point entirely. Why cant he get the best out of these players? Dortmund is the only place Immobile hasnt scored consistently. Maybe that says more about Klopp than it does Immobile. I mean Klopp has hardly set the world alight with Liverpool. Klopp has a lot to prove, look how many major finals he has lost. Not sure he's as amazing as everyone makes him out to be. He's done well at times but is far from the finished article and makes plenty of mistakes.

Ventura is no way near good enough to be manager of the Italy side. He is tactically inept and his man management is extremely poor. This isnt me just blaming Ventura based on a couple of bad results. He is a poor coach who is completely out of his depth.

Totti played under some of the greatest managers in Italian football history, but his performances for the national team were poor in comparison to what he managed for Roma. Same applied to Del Piero. Nesta never really shone for the national team either. I'm not saying Ventura is a master, but some players just aren't able to replicate their form at international level.

Hmm im not too sure about that. Totti was part of an Italian side that reached the European Championship Final and won the World Cup. Im not saying he was the best player in those tournaments but he was far from poor and did contribute.

More to the point Ventura cant seem to get a good performance from any player. We look so average it's unbelievable.

Totti played well vs Belgium and Nederlands in Euro 2000, went home in disgrace in 2002, virtually non existent in 2004, and wasn't fully fit in 2006. A return of a measly 9 goals in nearly 60 games, when for Roma he scored in excess of 300 goals. Evidently, Ventura is not working with world class players. Nobody in our current national team are world class. I'm not saying he has done great, but no one would've in their right mind expected Italy to finish above spain. got second place quite comfortably.

Totti was good at Euro 2000 and the World Cup in 2006 both times we got to the final. But anyway you are right Spain have a far better squad and were expected to finish top. But Why are we acting like our players are bang average. Ok they arent the very elite but Verratti, Insigne and Bellotti are 3 of the brightest players in europe right now. "Got to second place comfortably" come on dude, anything other than second place would have been a disgrace. Plus he drew with Macedonia! That is one of the worst results in the history of the national team. We can do much better with him. Dont think we should settle for average.

Verratti has been one of the biggest fraudsters to ever put on the national team jersey. Time will tell whether Belotti and Insigne are anything above average. Belotti has yet to play and excel at an international tournament, and of course has no experience in european competition. I like Insigne, but he has never excelled for the national team either. Conte never trusted him. If you look at Napoli vs Man city last week, you could for sure argue that Napoli actually became a much better team when he went off injured. We've gone out of the world cup in the first round in the last two editions. Unless proven otherwise, we currently are an average national team.
