  • Real Sociedad are in fantastic form, they won three out of three matches of 2017/18 La Liga season. On Thursday, they played Rosenborg at home in the Europa League, and they won 4-0.
  • Spanish winger Juanmi has gotten off to a tremendous start in La Liga this term by scoring three goals in the first three matches, including the first goal in their eventual 2-4 win over La Coruna.  He's scored in every game so far, and he is averaging one goal per 48 minutes to put him right up there amongst the very best in-form players at the moment.

  • Zinedine Zidane will once again be without star man Cristiano Ronaldo as he continues to serve his suspension.  Striker Karim Benzema is out until October, while winger Marco Asensio is also out here.  Center midfielder Mateo Kovacic picked up an injury in midweek, so he will be out as well.
  • Madrid have already defeated Manchester United and Barcelona on the way to UEFA Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup victories.  They come into this match, though, off the back of home draws against Valencia (2-2) and Levante (1-1) in the league.

Predictions

Coming into Sunday's match, there is a sight that is not seen very often in Spanish football. Real Madrid are in seventh place, albeit at a very early stage.

They also find themselves beneath Real Sociedad, another big surprise as well. This is due to Sociedad coming into this match having made a perfect start and Madrid drawing last time out.

With such a huge clash on the horizon, Sociedad are sure to be ready and well-rested, and they will put up a valiant effort in defeat to Madrid, however Real Madrid are still favorite to get all three points in this match.

This is going to be a draw. Zidane have overestimated his side with not getting adequate subs for Morata and james, so badly needed now. With all suspensions and injuries it's going to be hard. Ofc RM is the favorite but it is as if they really haven't understood that the season has started and are still enjoying the supercopa win over Barca.
