I don't get the Messi MOTM. He wasn't involved for much of the game. He got a great assist and a few decent runs here and there, but he lost the ball just as much and allowed Atletico to gather positions. Umtiti's performance was by far the greatest because he prevented more goals than Messi made/created. Atletico had the better chances this game, no doubt, and they wasted most of them, but Umtiti prevented most.

Yeah happens with Madrid too with Ronaldo, it's mostly heavy individual fans skewing the ratings. And assist or not his short run was key to Suarez scoring, but again, much of the Barca defence (and keeper) prevented way, way, more goals than Barca's top 3 made/scored.

People who think Atletico was disadvantaged by Griezmann's disallowed goal should consider that Barca was disadvantaged also. Too many easy calls (especially the penalty) and how did he send off Suarez like that? Fair result for both team. Barca was a bit lucky. This is an expected result when they only tried to slow things down during the tight schedule.

Not to mention Atlético's goal in the first leg shouldn't have counted because of Koke's foul. And Suarez 2 fouls 2 yellows (Barca has to appeal so the take off that 2nd yellow) while Filipe Luis hit as he wanted and only got one for that challenge on Messi that could've even been a straight red. And that penalty... too soft.
