I'm sure the trolls will make this about whatever crusade they endorse - but regardless of that, how about we all take a second and acknowledge what we just saw, one of the best Champions League games of the decade. It was a privilege to watch.

Brilliant chipped goal by Falcao. Glad he is back to his shape after long injury and poor performances in England

Some terrible defending, some of it at the end possibly caused by exhaustion and the fact that everyone on Monaco seemed to be sitting on a yellow. However, for entertainment and end to end action, this game was incredible. Puts paid to those who think the sport is boring. You know the mindset of the two teams and two coaches is playing attacking attractive football. Hard to imagine anything but that in three weeks.

Great game excited to see the 2nd leg for a mid-level club like Monaco to show up and give City a hard time on its home soil PRICELESS. Pull through Monaco for the sake of getting the GOOD OLD Champions League season make it through to the next round. A uphill battle but you can DO IT.

did you just say monaco mid level team ? hahaha dude they are leading league 1 and in shevchenko era, they are the strongest side on league 1, besides lyon at that time, psg was unknown they never go to mid level club, they always be one of strongest europe team and city fight till the end too, i bet its guardiola mindset, i mean he coaching barca and bayern who never gives up. one of the best match in Champions league no doubt.

I have seen more nutmegs in first half than in my entire life. But seriously. One of best games this season. Monaco's players will get huge increase in price after this... Sadly they didn't win but it was still amazing game. Just hoping that they return in second leg.

That yellow card to Aguero was retarded. That was clearly a penalty and maybe a red card to their keeper. Terrible decision...

To me it looked like the right decision. thus great refereeing..

no..he intentionally put his foot to touch the keeper and dive...

ikr, people didnt know about sweeping kick foul, and its 1 on 1 too, subasic lucky he didnt get red card. that was bad decision from the referee

KTBFFHSWE 10 years ago

Chelsea FC, Sweden 52 2449

"sweeping kick foul". Hm, okay. Anyhow, if there's this much disagreement in hindsight on whether it should have been a penalty or not, then it probably isn't a penalty.

@KTBFFHSWE lol to not give that which 98% of referees would have given but to give Monaco one of the softest penalties I've ever seen clearly shows the bias, however. I mean, even the Monaco players weren't protesting for a penalty, looks like they were surprised by it too.

KTBFFHSWE 10 years ago

That might be. But honestly.. bias in favor of Monaco? Yawn. You silly people.

Who said City needed to buy Bravo? They should have kept Hart and they would've had a decent goalkeeper choice with him and Caballero!! If u don't mind me saying, Bravo was a waste of money really!! :)

It's sad for Chile too, as they used to have a good goalkeeper in Bravo... :(

The don't need hart, they need a better keeper.

well I'm not sure about the rules, was Sterling 1st goal offside ??

moxinjc 10 years ago

Arsenal, Pakistan 0 640

Sane passed the last defender and passed it to Sterling, so no offside

binjai 10 years ago

0 1223

50.50...really hard to tell even for slow motion...so please just give it a rest..the linesman make the judgement while RUNNING and no replay...so this nearly offside/onside better let it go.

busstop2001 10 years ago

I've watched it several times and still can't decide if Sterling is even with Sane or slightly ahead of him. But if it's inconclusive you should award the goal.

RationalCogitator 10 years ago

Nigeria 0 376

actually, Sane was slightly ahead of sterling. No offside.

It wasn't look at the 6 yard box line. The ball is clearly closer to it than sterling is, so no offside
