Honestly feel we were unlucky to not come away with at least a goal from this game. Benfica really played defensively for long periods of the game but the blame shouldn't put on them for why BVB lost. We were so shit with our chances, creating so many and not taking them. Auba has clearly not been at his best the past couple games and the team really needs a rest. Good game to Benfica and good luck for the second leg :)
Despite we won, im kind of dissapointed with our performance. We can be better. Benfica should have attacked more and not playing so defensive. We were much more dangerous last year against Bayern, that is superior to Dortmund. But in football, the goals is the only that counts, so im happy with this win.
Borussia Dortmund = Sloppy and kept misssing chance after chance.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang = Had a night to forget. Forgot his finishing boots.
S.L. Benfica = Strong and fierce. Deserved the win.
Konstantinos Mitroglou = Constant threat to the back five of Borussia Dortmund, well deserved goal and got his team the win. It'll be an interesting second leg.
I seriously do not understand how someone could view this win as "deserved". Yes, Dortmund missed a lot of chances in an unbelievable way. But a deserved win? C'mon.
Yes. You have such attacking players in your squad, you broke the record for the most goals scored in a single UCL match, this should've been such an easy win for you, but S.L. Benfica outplayed you and your managers tactics. I like Borussia Dortmund but Tuesday was just not their day.
So proud of my team ! We were lucky, no question there! But "Luck" is something that you work for sometimes and Benfica we knew that we had to suffer a lot in this game. To be honest i predicted this result but with a lot of faith in the mix. Now the problem will be to stay at the top of the Portuguese league with a very difficult game in two days. Im aiming at 2-1 for Dortmund in Germany, Benfica usually scores at least 1 goal. Dont say i didnt warn you guys later !
PS/ Big big fan of Dortmund , amazing fans and great football! i thinh the game in Dortmund it will be above all things a great football match with amazing atmosphere!
Great from the Benfica fans, very intense atmosphere. We all know Dortmund fans will put on a show but it'll be interesting to see what affect that will have.
Crazy fans can either push the team or put immense pressure on the players, it can really go either way...

Crazy fans can either push the team or put immense pressure on the players, it can really go either way and the clock is against them, but Dortmund are more than capable of thrashing Benfica in the 2nd leg

It doesn't matter if you play good or bad, there are no moral victories, winning is winning, and yes our country should be greatful for your academy, but guess what,... that doesn't make you a big club, what makes a big club is the trophies and glory you got, not the fucking academy :P
well, he does have a point about the shitty goal though... no idea about the "as usual", but it WAS kind of a crappy goal, and they didn't really do anything for the game... I think 2 shots on goal or something... ;)
You have a point, Benfica's offense was pretty bad, but we lacked Jonas , the best striker of the team, was injured. He is almost as good as aubameyang.

I don't watch Benfica in the league to be honest but I know you guys are a very good attacking side. However, you guys clearly had a game plan for yourselves because you knew we'd go for it and try and get an away goal and it worked. I am just dissapointed because I felt the game was just stale because of the defensive structure you guys put out and I just felt the fans deserved a bit of a more action packed game. Good luck to you guys in the second leg and I hope that'll be a much better and more open game.
(on a side note, how is the foul on Dembélé in the first half (could've been a penalty) not even called?? I seriously do not understand... there was no way to not see that...?)

fucking unbelievable...

I hate how goalkeepers get different treatment a lot of the time. That was a very clear foul and possibly even a booking but whatever, referee probably didn't see it well enough.
n00ben: no, it has to be on the line of the box OR inside the box, and it WAS on the line if you look closely. But that was not really my point, what I am wondering mostly is why it wasn't even called a foul (and possibly a booking)
I don't think it's just a lack of confidence though. Auba is exhausted physically as well since the AFCON. He sometimes does have a tendency to miss good chances, in a Cavani type way, despite his incredible goal record. I think he just needs a game rest to just get back to his best, it's frankly sad seeing him like this and you can tell how mad he was at himself when he was subbed off.
