Good job not qualifying for Europe last year, also congrats on losing to Sevilla.

If Loris was not playing then Bayer could have scored atleast 3 goals. I loved the links between Leverkusen players, kampl, chicha, kiesling etc.

Spurs still struggling on CL and the worst is still yet to come if they've ever qualify to next round. Wait where am I going with this? LMAO... They wont even qualify.

2nd best today, particularly after half time. I wonder why Pochettino didn't rest Walker against West Brom in order to save him for Germany? Trippier left a lot to be desired. Dier looked shaky as well, thankfully Alderweireld's injury isn't serious. I thought a Leverkusen goal coming from Trippier and Dier's side was imminent once Brandt came on. Incredibly wasteful while counterattacking from Spurs in the 2nd half. Janssen had a solid game, seemed like things went worse once he was subbed. Nice to have Dembele healthy, but he'll need time to settle in due to his stop-start season. Lloris MoM, Rose outstanding. Lamela's 56% pass completion is not good enough. I would've liked to see GKN included in the team. His pace changed the game against CSKA; he could've been useful on counters.

Impressive that they tied. Both teams played well. Bayer being a hard team to play against. They always challenge Barca. In respect to lamela's pass completion. It might not be an ideal 80% lest's say. But he's risky and his passes are creative, they usually lead to a goal.

Fair point about the kinds of passes Lamela attempts. My post may have sounded like I was blaming Spurs' poor decision making completely on him, but others were involved in counterattacks that fizzled out hopelessly. In matches where Spurs' two starting fullbacks aren't playing, they lack width against strong teams due to Davies and Trippier lacking pace. This is exacerbated when Lamela competes for space with Eriksen, making the attack unbalanced at times. It can work well and create a lot of chances, but in the wrong conditions, things get bogged down very easily. Nice win for Juve today, btw. 3 points secured away with 10 men is impressive!

So does goal line technology work with a sensor inside the ball or do they have xray cameras or something to show where the ball is even with the ball being blocked from view like that?

Bayer was very impressive, and Spurs were certainly the second-best team, particularly in the 2nd half. Danny Rose and Lloris had excellent games though.

what about wanyama though? I thought he played very well too. The game was end to end, any of the two could have won it, far more exciting that the 0-0 suggests...

the first half, spurs dominated and if dembele, sissoko, walker, or even kane had played, it would have been 2-0 first half itself
