This result came as no surprise to me . It s sad to see Ajax , giants of 70's , becoming a totally uncompetitive team nowadays . I believe this is a proof of how much football has changed through this competition that is UCL and is considered to be successful . But how successful really is ? Yes in terms of advertising , sponsoring and viewing is by far the most attractive tv product sold ever . The sad thing is that UEFA realize football only as a commercial product . Clubs who can spend money can have a chance to glory and participate . I may be a romantic , but i m afraid that in few years only clubs from the top 5 leagues will participate and form a closed league as the evolution of todays CL. This is not a football of equal chances , however.

What a game by Rostov and unbelievable performance by Yerokhin. Hope he shines in CL and gets a chance in Russia national squad. He can be much better than Shirokov for us.

Last season these guys had to play a play-off match to remain in Russian top division! But look at them today.. There's only one man behind all this, only him! only that noble man could write a history in just one season. His name is Kurban Berdyev. And he is a very humble guy, Respect to Berdyev! Congrats Rostov!

Azmoun is such a good player and so good in the air, kinda reminds me of zlatan, and that goal looked like zlatans goal against soton.

Worst Ajax team in the last 40 years...

The dream comes true! Who can belive that FC Rostov did not even have money to pay their players one year ago! They were bankrupt! And then after Kurban Berdiev came to a club, they finished second in the Russian Premier-League (which was very very unlucky for them) defeated CSKA and Zenit. And NOW they beat RSC Anderlecht 2-0 2-2, then AJAX 1-1 4-1. A little club from Rostov-on-Don shows that money is not a main thing in football!

This club is doing a mircale. Never even won a Russian league and now qualified to Champions League.
