Tomsk is the city. Tom is the river that city's named after. While "Tomsk" is pronounced more or less like it's written, "Tom" is slightly different. The "m" at the end is soft, it is like you would say "me" stopping just short of the full "e" sound. :)

They named the team after the river. It's like if there would be a team named Seine, in Paris.

Already snow in Russia!?! Wait a minute, what am I talking about?! Of course, there would be snow in Russia, it's November! I'm experiencing things form the Balkans, where we've forgot what a snow looks like, and became real pussies when it comes to cold, complaining on 5, 6 Celsius (in the rare occasions, in this time of the year).
