Guardiola has been a coach of 2 great clubs, but he hasn't proven that he is a great coach. My grandfather would have won the same trophies if he was managing Barcelona and Bayern Munich. To prove me wrong, Pep should have gone to a club like Everton which has a modest budget, and take them to the BPL crown. That would be the acid test of a great coach.

conchaivn 10 years ago

Who has taken Everton to win BPL? And even if somebody do it once, he would be a great manager but not neccessarily the best. Raneiri is taking Leiceister to win BPL. He is great, but not the best. He has also failed at other clubs bigger than Leicester.

Edmund Khoo 10 years ago

Even below average coaches with world class players and mega budgets can win major trophies. Roberto Di Matteo won both the FA Cup & UEFA Champions League with Chelsea, but what has he achieved since? Nothing.

Trump 10 years ago

Really ? Mourinho, ancelotti and benitez got sacked eventho we all know real madrid have the most expensive squad in football history and you claim you can win trophies with barcelona and munich ?

Mansor Tahiri 10 years ago

Oh my days how can Niguez score a goal when Manuel Neur is on the goal?

Les_Bleus 10 years ago

Marseille, United States 0 126

that wasn't any odd goal, that was a world class finish against a really, really strong team in the most important game Atletico have played for a long time

Atletico Madrid, Spain 0 131

to years ago we played a UCL final, and two years ago we won the spanish league in the last game against Barca, dont forget that

Leivinha 10 years ago

Atletico is a football school. They always play with 4 to 8 players from the ranks. Saul is one of them, but also Torres, Gabi, Koke, Lucas, Thomas, Oliver. These guys beating the monsters of football is amazing.

Bruno 10 years ago

what sport is this Atletico Madrid excercising? definit not football.

Bruno 10 years ago

brilliant maneuver by guardiola to start without muller. what n the blue hell was thinking? felipe luis ate coman up and spit him out and guardiola was watching an hour long. -.-

Real madrid wont win this season. Munich and atletico convince me that one of them will get UCL title this season

nemesis101 is retard man

Edmund Khoo 10 years ago

What Diego Simeone has achieved at Atletico Madrid is nothing short of phenomenal. He has dared to challenge the mega riches of Real Madrid & Barcelona, and achieved remarkable success on a relatively small budget. Atletico are the Leicester City of La Liga.

Dimas 10 years ago

I don't think that "Atletico are the Leicester City of La Liga", what do I think is "Leicester City are the Atletico of Premier League"

Diego Simeone may be good at winning , but he is not good for the game. Look at athletico, playing dirty in almost every other game. The defensive style , beat the shit out of opponent mentality is what people hated in Mourinho`s Real Madrid... its not a respectable way of winning.

And athletico always had great players... great academy... Diego just took advantage of the clubs structure he knew so well from experience.
Personally, to that retard who said Leicester are athletico..lol at him. he dont know shit about football. Competing in La Liga is fairly easier than competing against 6 giants in BPL.

Lemur 10 years ago

nemesis101 Yeah. You speak the truth. ATM had 29 % possession at HOME Smh. Simeone is Morinho 2.0 no doubt.

Lemur...as a chelsea fan you're very ungreatful, where would your club championships be without mourinho?
you wouldn't have any dum**as

shitty players and blame the coach ahahahaha...keep whining

Voodoo 10 years ago

Nemesis, is that domestic competition why English teams never win any international trophies? I think BPL is more even, because all the teams suck.

Edmund Khoo 10 years ago

Diego Simeone cuts his coat in accordance to the little bit of cloth he has. It is easy to talk about coaching a successful team that plays attacking soccer when you have 1/2 a billion pounds to spend. Even then, look at how defensive some of the managers of mega rich clubs are. Apart from Jose Mourinho, look at the dull brand of play from Man U after Louis Van Gaal blew 1/3 of a billion pounds on world class talent.

Dimas 10 years ago

I don't say that "Leicester are Atletico " by the game, what do I mean is both team could compete even they only have small budget and I appreciate that

That moment when you remember that Atletico are over 400m in debt, and are sponsored by a country. They've spent big to be where they are.

JaeceB 10 years ago

Atletico better prepare for the storm that is coming for them at the Allianz Arena.

Niguez's goal was superb and more than amazing because
- It was against Bayern which is Bundeliga top team.
- It was against Best goal keeper in the world
- It was not only Champions League but in UCL Semi Final.
Much more interesting than the previous match Man City and RM.

nemesis101 10 years ago

neur is best goalkeeper?
lol just stick to your shit country... you dont know jackshit about football

Lemur 10 years ago

Well
- Bayern didn't have their main CB and played a LB at CB.
- Goalkeepers can't do much if defence is not solid.
- It was 1st leg of semi final not the decisive 2nd leg.
Atletico was just defending and not taking any initiative after the goal. ATM had 29% possession at home smh. Bayern were dominating possession but hardly troubled the ATM keeper. This game was as disappointing as Man City vs Ream Madrid.

Leivinha 10 years ago

Add also that it was scored by a player grown up in the ranks of Atletico.
