He played a friendly once in Düsseldorf with Porto. The game had to be abandoned, because Alves struck down the ref. The guy is a menace.

Defensively well, but no attacking threat. They only conceded due to that extra man. If Alves hadn't got a red card maybe it would have been a closer game, yet I think England would have still gotten the win. There is no real number 9 world class Striker for Portugal unfortunately, that's why it kind felt incomplete without Ronaldo there playing up front.
