Surely this has to be considered the best escape by any premier league club in the champions league. I am a liverpool fan but i sure did enjoy watching arsenal escape thursday night football. This is how it done Manchester United. Not spending 250 million and not qualifying. I do not want to take it away from Giroud but i think my Man of the Match was Joel Campbell !!! He deserves a mention once in a while !!! Such an incredible player, skilful, pacey, high work rate and an eye for the goal! how about that pass to Giroud !!! Flamini was also incredible !!! But well done Giroud on first hat-trick for the gooners !!

What a player Giroud is. He was under so much pressure to perform with Sanchez gone and was able to lead Arsenal. He has shown that you do not have to be fast and strong to be a top level striker. Respect.

Wow...great escape. I still consider Newcastle United's greatest escape during Sir Bobby's era the greatest escape ever. 1st three matches were defeats- Victories in the next 3 matches cemented a place in the knockout stages! Having said that, I still do feel that this Arsenal team's success was as impressive. well done Gunners. Really impressed by Joel Campbell's involvement in all the goals!

Whatever getting to ko stages arsenal is wenger's goal just like achieving fourth place in league..but just like prev. 15 attempts I bet they won't win this as they are way behind always.. For that matter English clubs are very poor unlike Spanish n Germans.. And its a fact, no matter how entertaining the league is but the std has never been consistently top rated.

RE: Comment on greatest escape, I think the Newcastle squad of 02/03 could give this Arsenal crop a run for their money for that title. Lost their first 3 CL group games against Juve, Feyenoord and Kiev and made it to the next round after winning the 3 reverse fixtures. Arsenal had at least 3 points from their first 3 games.
