Congratz to England. But i have to say this is the worst game since the knock out... Both teams were more on the ground rolling around than running. There was literally not a single attack that's worth watching. But a win is a win. Congratz

The real winner here is Croatia because if they beat Russia and England beat Sweden then Croatia can rest their key players against England for the final.

Im from New Zealand, as someone just watching football
I feel that England have gone most of the world cup without diving, Colombia came out trying to aggrivate England, bad tackles, constant arguing with the ref, diving etc. England reacted and took advantage of it by winning fair free kicks, don't understand all they hate, Columbia played like cocaine mobsters with zero class, scum.

Congrats to England. I didn't give them much of a chance against Colombia, but then again I didn't expect Colombia to concede the midfield. What a mistake that is for any South American team against taller and stronger European players. Oh well, it was a close match, and England finally came through in the penalty kicks.

Colombia had more fouls because the ref was one sided clearly. It's too bad such shitty officiating ruined what could of been a great match.

Lol... Colombia should have easily had many more yellows, including reds. Colombia had dead tactics, they didn't want to play football.

English players dived and the ref got sucked into there antics. South American futbol is physical. The 2014 quarter final match between Colombia and Brazil, James was taken down multiple times hard and only one yellow given. England were sissy's in the dives and the ref gave them the game. Shame on this WC that the better team didn't go through. Just hope England faces Brazil or Uruguay and see if they can get away with girly dives again.

I have a strange prediction to make: the final wil be Brazil - England.....Why ?? Because the WC final will reflect the CL final which was Real Madrid - Liverpool. So, according to this logical parellelism Liverpool will be oviously represented by England and Real Madrid, whose most important players are Marcelo and CR7, by Brazil (Marcelo is Brazilian and CR7 is Portuguese and he speaks Portuguese....so Brazil is the only country still in the WC that speak Portuguese)

Liverpool had Coutinho, and still have Firmino. Real has Marcelo and Casemiro. Brazil has the best players and will most likely win the world cup. Only English player from Liverpool who also plays in England's first eleven is Henderson and he is quite average player tbh.

1. What is it with so many people being unable to spell COLOMBIA???!!!

In the game's most balanced period, Colombia shot themselves in the foot by trying to wind up England players and engage in pointless skulduggery. England respond with two of the worst dives I've seen in the a long time - Mcguire and Lingard, both somehow going unpunished by the referee. Henderson going down like being shot post being cheek slapped on the chest was the highlight. The only real positive in a game bereft of any quality in the final third were the general quality of the penalties.

Not sure what you mean by a light touch on the cheek to Henderson. It was clearly a headbutt with malintent intention.

If it was England players who did that , instead of a Colombian player, then I am sure you would say such 'dirty players' England really are. That double-standard is bull**** to me.

That headbutt is a definite red card in most cases, and the Colombian only got a yellow, and the ref already went easy on them in that case. So please stop with your hypocrite.

The only thing that I agree with you is England players (and Colombia too) fell down to ground too easily. And that was not a sightly scene. And also both Lingard and Mcguire did not deliberately ask for a penalty, on the contrary, they just stood right up and admitted it was not a penalty.

Now I'm not the biggest spurs fan but I have to give credit where credits due with spurs huge investment in good English talent. They've done a big service to our national team. I hope utd continue to follow suit but under Jose I don't think that will happen

I don't get why people are saying things like, "I used to like Columbia, they play with spirit and heart but last night they were cheating, diving, dirty, etc” Do these people not remember the quarter final 4 years ago against Brazil? One of the worst games I ever saw and full of what went on last night.

As an Irishman, I'm predisposed to not liking England and they weren’t innocent last night either but Columbia were much worse and showed zero class. Just like Argentina. I won't be missing either of those teams.

Now let's stop this "It’s coming home" business and get England out, please. If not the next round, then the semi final, thanks ;)

Lmao I’m probably gonna get downvoted for saying this but I’m going to say it anyways because English bastards and their double standards is pissing me off. When Neymar gets legitimately fouled and stepped on he gets crucified and and is labelled as a cheat, diver etc. but when these English players roll on the floor like they been shot no one bats and eye instead they call the Colombians dirty lol.

Why is that always South American teams do everything from diving, playing dirty and complaining to referee at the same time to win at any cost? They really have no honor in football. Shame so many talented players but always resort to cheating. There were so many pleasant games with players playing actual football not theater but this one. I am glad we went through but i didn't enjoy the match at all.

Because we come from street football where anything goes lol Eye gouges, finger up the bum, kicking shins and ankles, headbutt to the chins when oppositions takes freekicks, diving, crying and rolling on the floor when someone slightly touches our face or shoulder. That's how we do it.

We were attacking in the first half, and most of the 2nd half. The Colombians had 22 fouls to our 9, and our players had enough and started getting irritated. Barrios deserved to be sent off, after headbutting Henderson.
